Have played this room twice in different groups. First time was only the 2nd escape room we ever did and First ever passed! Definitely a staple to play to get feet wet for the hobby

This isn’t my favorite game that I have played at TEG and I am guessing it must be one of their earlier designs, as it mostly relies on four-digit locks. I would put it in the same category as TEG’s art heist room: it was cool for its time but the state of the art has moved on (TEG’s newer games have all the bells and whistles). But there are some clever puzzles, and we had a good time. I wouldn’t go out of my way to play it, but if you are there anyway, you might as well pick it up. So… recommended-ish, I guess?
Some clever puzzles that use the set in interesting ways. However, there are way too many four-digit locks so you end up trying the same combination on all of them, which is still a thing in 2024 apparently.
Good set design, more variety than I expected. The opening area is pretty narrow and the subsequent areas are pretty small. I would not go into this with more than 4 people unless you really like being in each other’s personal space.
TEG always has good staff members and GMs. I appreciate that they try to give you subtle hints before whacking you with the clue stick. A couple of the puzzles in this room are easy to mess up so taking clues is advisable if you aren’t sure that you are doing the right thing.

Clyde the prospector has hidden a bunch of gold and you want to find it first. Other than the fact that Clyde clearly should have been named “Stinky Pete” this is the entirety of the story, and that’s fine.
Easy
It is possible to finish the room while leaving a good chunk of the puzzles in the final area unsolved because the “big finale puzzle” is not difficult to figure out with only 50% of the information that they think you need. Ask me how I know.

Would be fine with 1-4
Not scary
It is intentionally dimly lit, but they give you flashlights. It is not spooky unless you are claustrophobic in which case you may not be too thrilled with the size of the spaces.

There is one dexterity puzzle, and one person in the group has to crawl and go down a short slide. They can then open a door for everyone else.
Stairs, narrow doorways, a crawl, a slide, and several puzzles that use small colored dots.

Best experience we have ever had! The hubby and I did the Gold Rush room for our honeymoon and felt it was the best way to celebrate! Our game master was Mickey and he was so helpful to nudge us in the right direction when we needed it but not overly giving us clues so we could still figure it out ourselves. All the staff were super kind and friendly, but definitely cross your fingers to get Mickey as your GM. The room was super immersive and fun, some puzzles definitely needed creative thinking but wasn’t overly complex. Would 100% recommend and come back!

Overall, ranks as one of my favorites due to the set and the puzzles. Great game and well worth it!
Great game, had some unique aspects and fun puzzles.
Amazing set. Fully immersive and well done!
Staff is awesome.

Unique aspects - without spoiling, will not be disappointed in set or unique features.
Great plot and flowed well with set.
Medium
Few puzzles were challenging, mostly just need concentration and good communication for success.

Went with theme well.

Set isn’t large but is so worth it. Makes the game feel even more immersive since it’s so fitting with theme. A large group might feel cramped.
Not scary
Dark in some parts but not at all scary.

Puzzles def require bit of brainpower and younger kids might not be able to participate in all of them.

Need to be able to climb stairs and be mobile to be able to fully experience!
Mobility would be an issue, and is semi dark in parts so vision may impact gameplay. Colors and hearing wouldn’t create challenges.

This is a great game, on par with their other games. Our ending was a bit anticlimactic though, something opened too early and the game guide didn’t even really acknowledge it until we asked. Our team was 8 ppl, which was honestly too many. I’d recommend 4-5.

At the moment, this is the only experience I have done from "The Escape Game". That being said, they are easily the gold standard for "Chain" Escape Rooms. The quality of design was near top notch and the games layout was unique and highly immersive.

This is, in my opinion, the best version of a "Standard" Escape Room.

This would be a tough game for anyone in a wheelchair unless they have some hidden version of the game made for those folks. I would not recommend for anyone in a wheelchair.

You will more than likely need to park in one of the paid garages to get here.

Loved Gold Rush because of the creative puzzles to solve along with some fun hidden things (water and jumper cables were involved 🤫). We were with a group of 8 total people and it did feel a bit tight; I’d recommend 4-6 for the physical space of the rooms. Great and professional staff with well done rooms.
Cool puzzles with some interesting solutions!
2 escape rooms
This was only the 2nd escape room we’ve done and it was very fun but for me it was more of a 5/10 difficulty. We finished with 26 minutes to spare. Although the first one we did was Bank Heist at Mastermind and it only has a 15% success rate so maybe it just felt easy compared to that. It just felt like some of the clues were a bit too easy, but still a really cool room and a good time.
