Gold Rush was the second room that we did in this location in one day. I think this was my least favorite. The puzzles were of medium difficulty and the storytelling makes sense with the theme overall. I would just rank it lower overall because there were so many nonlinear puzzles presented and the puzzle that tripped us up was linear. Because of its linear nature, even though we already solved another puzzle, that puzzle depended on this puzzle and the trigger was delayed for a couple of seconds. This is still a good room and if you are a fan of Westerns, I would recommend doing this. A group of four would be ideal for this experience.

GREAT Puzzles pushed this room to a heart for me. They were fun and really clever. That, along with really good set and a great staff, make this a wonderful room to play.

3-5 is probably best.

Gold rush was a great game, good set, good puzzles, and non linear. It’s definitely one of their older games, but it still has a lot of charm to it, the hint system is fun, and the game really ends with a bang!

I really enjoyed this room! This was my 29th escape room (24W - 5L) that I tackled with four other adults with similar statistics. The room is wonderfully decorated with everything in theme, including the timer. All of the puzzles and props were in great condition with no glitches. This would be a fun room for a family with 'tween-kids to play as it is not scary, the kids can walk around with lanterns while looking for clues, there is code breaking, and novel puzzles. I liked that the puzzles were mostly non-linear, so there was plenty for players to do alone or as a group.
This was a fun room. There were a couple of puzzle concepts that I had not encountered yet. I still consider myself to be a newbie, but even if you are a highly experienced player, I think this would be a fun room - just take fewer people.
The props and puzzles were all in theme and high quality.
Our GM was very polite and helpful. We played three rooms today and she knew when we needed a nudge and when to give us a few more minutes to muddle through a task.

I'm still pretty new to escape rooms, so this is only my second gold rush theme. There was at least one clue that I said, "huh, that's pretty cool".
The room is very in theme with high quality decorations.
Medium
We needed one nudge.
Mechanical
I think the room was a mixture of high tech and mechanical, but probably a little more mechanical (which I prefer).
4
I think the room could be solved by two players with experience, but four is a nice number because there are quite a few puzzles to solve in a non-linear setting.
Not scary
The lighting is low, but the room is not scary.

Somewhat
There is a lot of walking around, stooping, etc., but nothing exhausting.
I think the room would be difficult for players with disabilities.

What a great room, full of quality props, puzzles, and immersion. We didn't finish, since we tried to do this room without help, but it was still great. This was the first escape room we ever did and it really jaded us when playing elsewhere. I use my experience in this room as an example of what not to do when telling new customers how to be successful in rooms (never tell your friends no when they want to try something, let the GMs help you a little if you have no experience, you never know what's possible in rooms, etc). I don't think I will ever forget this room.
Puzzles made sense, story-line was good,
Immersion and design was high quality. That last room was really cool looking.

This was the first of 2 rooms we did in 1 day at Mind Trap. The set design was awesome - you really felt like you were in an old cabin looking around for a way into an old gold mine. It was really fun. The medium rating is accurate - our party of 5 finished with about 15-20 minutes to spare. The games and technical design of the game was very clever. We love escape rooms that’s immerse you into the game with their set designs and props and this one was a winner. We’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the games!

What a fun room! Simple, straightforward, LOTS of items and LOTS to do. Great for a group who likes multi-tasking. We did it as a couple and still had a *blast.* is there anything particularly original or mind blowing about the room? No not really. But that doesn’t really matter when you’re having fun, which we were.
Lots to do. Simple but challenging puzzles.
Simple but effective miner’s cabin. Felt immersed!
Very friendly and talented staff

This is a room that I wish Morty gave the option to select a neutral thumb! Not up or down, just neutral. After doing 40 Thieves the day before, this room doesn’t compare in puzzles or technology. However, it is a good room for beginners, the theme is good, the atmosphere is good, and the puzzles are very solvable. We finished in half the allotted time which feels good but you always wish there was more.
