Cellar Escape

The room was fun, but a lot of the puzzles either were anticlimactic or were just there to be there because puzzles needed to be there. I was dissapointed that the same type of puzzle was repeated three different times throughout the experience. The set was very well done though. I did find that duracula and Haunted Mansion were more scary (at least for me). This set was much more typical gore and horror though.

First, I’m not a fan of any company that makes you lock your phone in a locker. Really dumb and old school. Their set design is amazing…I’ll really give them that! This room was very lock and key and not a variety of puzzles. There were 4 fuse puzzles…really didn’t require you to think at all.

Not a bad game, the set was a darker, gritty style serial killer game so careful if you are squeamish. The puzzles were straight forward with a mix of generation one style puzzles and some tech as well.

We did this with a group of 6 but was put with another group of 6 that was not competitive in nature. I think they do only private rooms now, which is so much better.

It is an ok way room, some of the puzzles were a bit older style puzzles. The room is very large and does have some cool aspects to it. I wouldn’t do this with more than 4-6 ppl. This room is worth playing.

The room was well themed, but a huge amount of stuff is just for the theme and doesn’t need to be there. The brief was so ridiculously long, full of ‘don’t touch this, don’t do that, this will be found here…’ etc etc. Completely killed our excitement because we just stood in the room listening to the rules for 10 mins only for them to be repeated again on a video.

Great, well thought out room. Some big scares, but worth every minute.

We went with a group of 4 of us. We had a fun time in this room. If your not into creepy I would recommend. You do have to crawl in some points so be aware of that and sometimes a loud noise. Overall the room was a fun theme and fun puzzles.

I have done this room twice. The first time I enjoyed it tremendously and thought it was very well done. The second time I did the owner had added new puzzles and experiences to "improve" it and, in my opinion, lessened the experience. I don't know if there any changes since I last played it so I don't know what to tell you at this point. The set is the high point of the rooms here and I cannot fault them (if you do them when they first open). The upkeep doesn't seem to be a priority and when I have gone back to do the new rooms or redo a room with new people I have been disappointed to find things have fallen into disrepair. This room it is a little harder to notice since it is a serial killer's basement but I did notice a lot of the original puzzles were not working properly. Two of the puzzles were obviously triggered from the GM as opposed to us solving the puzzle. One time it was triggered long before we reached the solution. The puzzles, originally, were well thought out and challenging. In the new version, the puzzles had been swapped out and some of the original clues were left behind. I would check with more recent reviews as experiences may vary.
