Permanently Closed - The family of the deceased gets the will suddenly. None the less he was a very wealthy industrialist. It might even be a murder, crack the mystery.

The Secret Temple: Our group of fellow reporters was sent in to investigate a secret society. In search of their hidden temple we delved deep into the mysteries of the clandestine organization. Apartment 205: As a team of special agents, we were sent on a mission to deactivate a bio-chemical bomb that was found in a Hollywood apartment. But first we had to locate the bomb before time ran out. The Will: A wealthy industrialist commits suicide? But was it a suicide? Or was it murder? We had to help the family figure out the truth so that the deceased could rest in peace. Crime Scene: Sent in to investigate a crime scene at a theater, our group had to prove that the death was not a suicide but a murder. The police do not take kindly to interlopers, however, so we had to figure it out and act fast. Pros: We visited this place on four separate occasions to play the four different games. The owners/game masters were consistently enthusiastic, gracious, and fun. They clearly love their business. The sets in the rooms were aligned with the storylines and themes. The decor added to immersive feel. We played in groups ranging in size from 4 to 8 people. The rooms worked well with groups of any size. The puzzles were linear and logical and a good mix between searching and solving. We especially enjoyed the creativity and unique mechanical puzzles of Crime Scene! Cons: The couch in the waiting room - I almost didn't escape from it!

I wish there was a way to rate rooms as like, not the best room but my group had fun. I think this room was first generation as well, so I don’t wanna be harsh in this review but I can’t give it a thumbs up either. This room wasn’t great, but it wasn’t the worst. I need a thumb in the middle. I can’t recommend the room ultimately but it was my first one and it was enough that I wanted to keep trying escape rooms! However, this is not a poetic review about my journey into escapedom. It’s about the room. Meh! That’s my review. I will say that partly it was on me - this room was a surprise gift to me, and I didn’t get to pick it. Literally any other room at this location would’ve been more up my alley, but like I said, still had fun. As I recall, you’re trying to find a will, and the guy who wrote it ends up being from a secret society I think? There was almost no story. There were two rooms - one was a study, and the second, which opened through a secret bookcase was also… a study. It ended with you getting the will. Not a ton of effort went into the immersion/lore there, which is unfortunate because the set wasn’t really impressive either so it just ended up being… ok. And unremarkable, which for the price wasn’t great, even in 2016. Again, I know this is a first gen room but still. I think a wild story with a contrasting second room would’ve impressed me a lot more. The puzzles I remember being hard, but it was my first room, so I doubt it was actually super hard. There were some scuffed/laminated up clues, and a couple kinda cool puzzles/triggers but nothing too exciting. They didn’t give us a starting point so we kinda just started poking everything which wasn’t the way to do it, because it was a linear room, so the flow wasn’t great and we were bumbling around bc we didn’t have a clear idea of what to do, it being our first room. The staff was cool, except there apparently was a kill switch button that forced all the doors open in the room - and if you pressed it, the game was OVER for some reason. I think it must’ve been connected to resetting the puzzles somehow? Because they were ADAMANT about us NOT touching it at all, otherwise we’d be kicked to the curb, and I don’t know why they’d freak out so much otherwise. Well, and I still don’t know how, the button went off, of course. They came in to boot us, but we protested our innocence and they let us stay, if a little reluctant. No one could figure out what happened. I get it, but also, maybe don’t have a panic button and just leave the door unlocked? Like I said, first gen room, so maybe that was a thing back then. And I still don’t know wtf happened to set it off. But beyond that the staff was ok, as was the room, and here I am today, still loving escapes. So cheers!
It was ok! Some fun lasers - somehow we also triggered the escape door, which they were super uptight about - still not sure how. They let it slide once we explained it happened on its own.
It just looked like a study. A bit boring, but not terrible.
Pretty good, except for the door thing.
No
There was a cool laser puzzle I think but also I’m trying to keep in mind this was a first generation room, so I don’t want to be too harsh. It was just a little boring story wise though.
There wasn’t much of a story/mystery sadly. I think the guy was involved in a secret society but the bottom line was that you needed to get his riches. It just kinda ended with you getting the will. Eh.
Medium
It was my first room and I remember it being a challenge but maybe it bc it was my first time playing, to be fair.
Mechanical
I believe it was a first generation room, so it was mostly mechanical, but there were a couple fun triggers that went off!
4
We did 5 but we were all newbies - I think a solid team could have crushed this with 3.
Not scary
It was supposed to be a little ominous but really it was a little cozy with the nice colors and chairs hahaha.
13
The one we did seemed more geared towards a more mature audience - like if the kid liked Sherlock Holmes a lot this could be fun maybe.
Yes
I think some of the props were visibly used and also maybe a little damaged/didn’t work properly bc of the wear - I don’t really care about visible wear as long as I still have a ton of fun but this one was just kinda ok.
No
Not at all
There were only two room and you just walked through from one to another once the second door opened. Maybe it was through a secret book passageway.
It doesn’t apply since it’s closed but also I doubt the second room doorway had enough wheelchair space. No passages or crawling, but some sound/noise/visual cues as well.
Yes
Strip mall
Limited
Strip mall parking but if that wasn’t available (bc the place is small) you’d need to hunt a bit.
