6/10 Algernon’s Shop of Magical Goods just about scores high enough to get a thumbs up. This room was full of red herrings, which stumped us as we began creating our own puzzles with no outcome. We also felt that the flow from puzzle to puzzle was off at times and we had to make assumptions in order to complete a lock. A couple things didn’t work properly or took a while to trigger. The set design and overall ambiance of the room was really well done and was the best part of the whole experience. The ending was a bit far-fetched and felt out of place for us.

We really liked the set design in the first room. The game itself is decent. The end is a bit silly and out of place. But overall, we liked the game.

Great idea. Fun first room. Some red herrings. Anti-climatic. In fact, when I escaped I "fell" into the hallway and said "wait, I think I missed something". Guess what I missed was the resolution of the red herrings. Overall, ok room.

This room was good not great, and a bit on the short side. The ending was anti-climatic, but the puzzles were fun.

The room decor was really top-notch. (Actually the entire facility is amazing including hallways/lobbies, etc. I completely disagree with a review I read where they stated this room is the same puzzles over and over, that's just not accurate they used varying locks, puzzles, clue finding, etc. The game master here was also awesome, full personality waited for us to ask for assistance. If you have any in your group into D&D this room has several nods to that, which made my teen boys heart sing. The only thing I will say that could have been improved is that the room has an almost serial puzzling strategy which sometime results in some standing around for groups larger than 2-3.

9.2/10 We did this room opening day so it had some hiccups. But overall it was an interesting game. Definitely great for DND fans and a really cool ending. Some of the puzzles were repetitive and there were a lot of red herrings whether intentional or not. Overall a good experience!

I almost left the rating blank, as it’s somewhere between like and dislike. While the room itself was gorgeously themed, the puzzles are just the same type of lock over and over. There were some unique puzzles that I enjoyed but otherwise very repetitive. I will say I was there right when it first opened so it does feel unfair to be too harsh.

Algernons was the perfect mix of all aspects. It had equal amounts of high tech and mechanical puzzles, great mix of spooky and funny (especially for a chicken like me), and was really cool! There was one part/prop that made it kinda scary, and I would not recommend this room for kids. This whole place is so thrilling and immersive! There was even a staff member that came out from a hidden door when we were checking in. Go check them out! Note: this is considered their spooky/scary place, Gnome & Raven is their tame facility.

We enjoyed the room. Mostly physical locks but several interesting puzzles.

The game was challenging and fun. It was a little heavy on physical locks for my taste, but all in all we enjoyed it.
