Libraries - places where the world's knowledge is stored... and so much more. Yes, libraries not only hold a wealth of knowledge, but also contain secrets of ancient history, modern events, wondrous architecture, fantastic treasures, culinary journeys, traditions and cultural evolution, and much more. The oldest library in the world (and let's not forget the oldest still functioning university in the world) is the Al-Qarawiyyin Library in Morocco, founded in 859. One of the oldest libraries in Italy, with over 120,000 prints and about 15,000 manuscripts, papyri and other documents, is Michaelangelo's Laurentian Library in Florence. This library is one of the many magnificent creations of Michelangelo. It was founded by Pope Clement VII, and the library building itself is said to be one of Michelangelo's masterpieces. However, the building was opened 7 years after his death in 1571 and unfortunately remained unfinished. On the other hand, there are some other types of libraries… magical ones… most often magical in themselves or deeply imbued with magic. These libraries are often small and hidden in some secret place. They usually contain dangerous and forbidden spells, dangerous supernatural spellbooks, and priceless ancient artifacts. Since the contents of such a library are unusually valuable, priceless in fact - and it would be disastrous if these items fell into the wrong hands - these libraries are usually almost impossible to find without a special map, not to mention they are really well kept. Because of this, various monsters and magical creatures often find their homes in magical libraries, and we must not forget the Guardians - Magical Librarians who are there to protect the library with their lives and all the magic they possess.
