The year is 1956... or is it? With all you’ve experienced in recent weeks, it’s hard to trust even that. You went to sleep once night, and woke up here at Overbrook Hospital. The place promises care and peace for the mentally ill, but all you’ve received is manipulation, experimentation, and a heavy supply of drugs. Besides that, you’re not insane, and never have been. The whole place is a ruse, devised to cover the mind-control experiments of a group of twisted scientists. However, you won’t allow them to use you any longer. A situation at the other side of the hospital has diverted the staff’s watching eyes. It is the perfect chance for escape, and it may be your last. Find the medicines needed to restore your senses before finding your way out of this living nightmare before your mind is lost forever.

Jenna was a great game master. Awesome puzzles that made the rule challenging and fun to solve.

Well thought out room with decent puzzles. Recommend you have at least 1 in the group with awesome fine motor skills.

I've done 215 rooms over the past 10 years in multiple different states and two countries, and I must say that this wasn't my favorite room. While I love a good physical challenge/puzzle now and then, this room was almost ALL physical challenges, which became time-consuming and required impractical feats like gymnastics. We would have enjoyed more logic-based puzzles and higher-tech challenges. Additionally, we had difficulty seeing puzzles due to low lighting, and we also had trouble hearing important clues, including nudges from the game master, due to low and muffled voices. There was also a very distracting loud noise that occurred every few minutes. One puzzle required a complete logical leap, making it nearly impossible without a clue. This room was similar to PanIQ's Atlantis in San Jose, CA, where one physical challenge was practically unsolvable without repeated attempts, consuming too much time. Despite these issues, the immersion factor was good.

Room was very immersive. The puzzles did make you think. Just take your time with each and you will be fine. Jake and Jonathan were amazing. They made sure we stayed on track. So much fun can't wait to do the other room.

Fantastic room and overall experience. Our game master, Noelle, took great care of my group. The puzzles were logic based. There are definitely physical components. Part of the puzzle is understanding your puzzle. In other words, know what the task of the puzzle is (this will make sense when you complete the room).

Overall Great escape room! Level of complexity for puzzles was top notch, room design was immersive, and staff was great! Excited to try the other rooms!

PanIQ Escape Room's Insane Asylum is considered their expert level at 4.5/5. The variety of the puzzles here are diverse. There are magnets. There are puzzles that involve lights. There are hidden items and clues. I would say that the most challenging part of this escape room are the physical puzzles. With logic, problem-solving and teamwork, the physical puzzles are doable. There is also a puzzle that requires some visual manipulation. You'll definitely get your brain tingling here. Four is a good group number, but two is required! The storyline is coherent. Overall, this is a more spooky escape room because of the theme. I would say though that the room feels dated. There were three rooms -- but it felt more like two. Still a good time and my favorite out of the ones that I've done in this location. Our game master wa straight to the point, and I do wish she had a little bit more enthusiasm but she was friendly!

PanIQ is a great introduction location to those that haven't played escape rooms! Insane Asylum has great sound effects, very thematic and puzzles overall felt intuitive. Some of the puzzles have to be pretty precise, so pay close attention to the finer details! But not too close or you might find yourself drawn into a red herring. Pictures are allowed and you're definitely meant to explore and enjoy yourself here, would recommend for anyone looking for a chill time.

They allow you to take pictures inside the room (not of puzzles of course) but little photo ops are allowed and that’s so much fun.
