Greetings! I am Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors of all time. But alas one of the least known. You may have in your pocket right now one of my prophetic concepts for an invention that was stolen from me. I invented, predicted & contributed to the development of hundreds of technologies that play big parts in your daily lives. Such as wireless transmission, computers, smartphones, laser beams, x-rays, robotics. And, of course, alternating current, the basis of your present-day electrical system. My greatest opus was Wardenclyffe Tower. To clarify, this was the early wireless transmission tower at my lab in New York. As much as I planned to use the tower to achieve what the scientific community had so far considered impossible: a global, wireless communication system. Basically, It was an incredibly prescient attempt to create a telecommunications infrastructure similar to what the Internet offers you today—but completely wireless. Be that as it may, My lifelong obsession: the wireless transmission of energy was stolen from me. After I was found dead. On January 1943 in my hotel room in New York City, representatives of the U.S. government’s Office of Alien Property seized many documents relating to my brilliant and prolific work. It was the height of World War II, and I had invented a powerful particle-beam weapon, known as the “Death Ray”. So rather than risk my technology falling into the hands of America’s enemies. For that reason, the government swooped in and took possession of all my property. Of course that was all my documents and patents from my room at the New Yorker Hotel. What happened to my lost patent files and a few other items from there, as well as what exactly was in those files, remains shrouded in mystery.
