Amazon SurvivalEscape TacticEscape roomIRLThis was a good time! It’s Amazon themed and thoroughly decorated (using fake plants and animals which should be expected), but it does still take a little theater-of-the-imagination for full immersion. There were a few surprising and unique mechanical features, and a couple of crawl spaces that would be fun for kids. Overall, a moderately-high quality room with unique puzzles. I’d recommend it!
Be'WitchedLara's Labyrinth - WethersfieldEscape roomIRLThis was a very weird experience in a good way. It’s one of very few rooms I’ve done involving live actors. We specifically chose the raunchier version, which turned out to be, well, quite raunchy. We had a lot of fun, and it was extremely memorable. Excellent decorations, but it was the live acting that truly made it remarkable.
Bomb Squad [prev. Undercover Alley]Breakout Games - GreensboroEscape roomIRLEntering into the room, you were immediately transported to a gritty sidewalk, complete with graffiti, a trash can, a chain link fence, window sills on the side of a "building." We had to interact with objects on the other side of the fence. Very fun and immersive with plenty of unexpected elements.
ClueBreakout Games - GreensboroEscape roomIRLDesigned by Hasbro, Clue is based on the board game by the same name. It's very cleverly designed, and there were certain parts of the experience that made it feel like there were things actively happening just beyond the walls of the room, which was very exciting. It was overall very immersive, challenging, and left me wondering how it was put together.
DaVinci's officeSouthern Pines EscapeEscape roomIRLThis room has a clear effort at immersion, but falls just barely short. The challenges are lock based, but some of the ways of finding answers were creative. The room was very linear, which meant you couldn't really have multiple people working on the different things, making it even more difficult. I would've liked to see more of those creative challenge and fewer lock-based challenges.
Do Not DisturbBreakout Games - GreensboroEscape roomIRLThis room was simply designed and that was perfect. It was only supposed to be a hotel room, so simplicity worked. Some of the challenges were very unique and thematic. There was also a moral choice that had to be made (which we unintentionally made before realizing we had a choice). Excellent room for what it was.
Escape From Escobar'sPuzzled Escape GamesEscape roomIRLA handcuffed start with a uniquely challenging secret to get the keys and large interactive piece hanging from the ceiling. This room was a real adventure that forced you to think outside the box. The theme was a poor choice on the part of the game maker, but the execution was more respectful than I expected.
Escape The HydeoutMission Escape GamesEscape roomIRLIncredible room. This dark, spooky room was beautifully put together and had an interesting and engaging storyline. It was not only a simple A to B story, but told the narrative of Jeckyl and Hyde through the puzzles. You had to retrieve objects from unusual places, arrange objects in unique ways and use a codebreaker to find answers.

HostageBreakout Games - GreensboroEscape roomIRLFirst getting out of the handcuffs was an interesting problem that required teamwork. What followed was a complicated set of tasks involving tech like AR on an iPad, lasers, and an old iPhone. Very unique and very challenging!
