Wasnโ€™t impressed when we initially arrived. GM was stand-offish and bordering on rude, especially when I explained to him that I was sensitive to scares. When he assumed his character he seemed to improve. However, as someone who does not like horror rooms, this one really wasnโ€™t for me. The puzzles were good and the set & theming was fantastic, but it should be made clear that this has a horror twist. I was reduced to tears and the GM said we should have known as it is clear on the website, however I disagree. Having said all that, if you are ok with scary theming, then I would definitely recommend this room. I can see why it has such high ratings, itโ€™s just not suitable for everyone.

Another fantastic room from Alex and his team. I was hesitant at first when I read the backstory, but donโ€™t let that put you off because itโ€™s a brilliant room. Thereโ€™s loads of puzzles, lots of different ones that we havenโ€™t seen before and a great range of difficulties. It has very little to do with โ€˜turdsโ€™ other than collecting them, and there was nothing dirty or ill-humoured about it. It was just good, silly fun! Think it may have taken top-spot for my favourite UK room. Strongly recommend!

Another fantastic room from Escape Quest. I love visiting Chapelgate and exploring the new quests. Brilliant puzzles, with a nice range of difficulties. Love that it becomes a collecting style game which means you get to spend the full hour in the room. Thereโ€™s always too much to do, which is great but also really really frustrating as Iโ€™d love to stay in there till Iโ€™ve finished them all! Would recommend for everyone, beginners to experts. Canโ€™t wait to see whatโ€™s next for Escape Quest!

Good, interesting room, with some very clever puzzles. It says that itโ€™s their hardest room, and it is HARD. We were a group of two, and only just escaped! I definitely recommend it if the theming is something that appeals to you. I personally didnโ€™t love the theming, but thatโ€™s purely personal, and I imagine itโ€™s brilliant for people who like LotR, D&D, game of thrones etc. overall, I really enjoyed the level of thinking and puzzle-solving that was required.

A very difficult room, with puzzles that for us didnโ€™t seem to flow or make much sense. We are experienced escapers, but this one we just didnโ€™t get. The room itself was unique (I wonโ€™t spoil it!), so Iโ€™m glad we did it. But it was hard to tell when we had solved a puzzle as there was a lag between us doing something and the desired effect, presumably because we were waiting on the GM pressing a button?? Several times we asked for clues and received radio silence - this must have wasted 5 mins of game time. If Iโ€™m honest I wouldnโ€™t recommend this one.

Felt less of an escape room, more of a mini-adventure/obstacle course! It was ok, but had the same issue as in one of their other rooms: asked for a clue and received radio silence. Asked several times to no avail. When we commented that nobody must be paying attention, GM opened the door and shouted โ€˜I am paying attention, youโ€™re just wrongโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜จ It was ok for something different, but I didnโ€™t feel like we needed to use our logic or problem-solving very much in this game.
