Demon BarberEscape - LVLS NewcastleEscape roomIRLIt was okay The girl who was our host was very friendly and polite, so we couldn't fault the service. The game itself was well-themed with a unique premise, as our group had never seen a Sweeney Todd-style game before. However, some parts needed repairing, as there was a piece integral to a puzzle that was hard to read due to some damage. 3/5 overall.
Murder on the 1.30 from PlymouthDetective RoomsEscape roomIRLThis isn't an escape room, strictly speaking. If you have played a Sherlock Holmes-style tabletop game before, it's closer to that. Detective Rooms is very much a one-of-a-kind experience that I would recommend to anyone with an interest in true crime, police procedure, and cold cases. Our hosts were phenomenal and gave us a tour and showed us some other games they have. We will be coming back to try them.
The InfectedEscapologist - Metrocentre, GatesheadEscape roomIRLMy first try at an Escapologist game and I wasn't disappointed. There is a lot to like, the theming is very good, the atmosphere is done well for the most part. The room was mostly in the dark, which did hamper my experience quite a lot. It can be hard to see, and part of the game is figuring out how to turn on the lights which don't illuminate it well. I understand that is part of the theming and atmosphere, but it made puzzles and locks difficult to solve, especially after we were encouraged to not use our torches.
Chaos in the CosmosEscapologist - Metrocentre, GatesheadEscape roomIRLThis room is a lot of fun, leans into the space theme well and there are some unique puzzles in there.
