The Forest of FablesCU Adventures in Time and SpaceEscape roomIRLThis room was great, as is expected at Adventures in Time and Space. Every one of their rooms is excellent and has continued to set the bar higher and higher. This room is no exception. The incorporation of the actor in the room was well done without being overbearing. The interactability was fun and it felt like we had agency in how it played out. The theme of the room fit the storyline perfectly. It was very detailed and it was not always clear where the next path was going to lead us. 10/10. If you haven’t done a room here - you are missing out.
Calling All VillainsCU Adventures in Time and SpaceEscape roomIRLThis was our first time at CU Adventures and it was a great experience. Calling All Villains was a very fun and challenging room. The puzzles were just challenging enough without being a time sink and the decor was very thematic. The pace of the room flowed very well and there were several mechanics used that I hadn’t seen elsewhere. Highly recommended.
Jurassic EscapeEscape The Room - ChicagoEscape roomIRLThe theming and decor were very immersive. Some of the puzzles were not very intuitive and there were times that it was clear that we had input the correct solution but it was not clear what happened as a result of it. The flow felt broken up because of that. Overall a cool experience and worth checking out.
Candy ShoppeEscapetown - PeoriaEscape roomIRLThe room fit the theme well. It was a fairly basic room with a lot of locks. The difficulty was not hard at all and is aimed at first timers, which we didn’t know going in. Still a fun room especially for kids.
The MazeStarved Rock EntertainmentEscape roomIRLThis is definitely a lower budget room but it did flow well and the puzzles were ok. There aren’t a lot of rooms available in the area so you take what you can get. The theming was minimal and there wasn’t much story.
School Of MagicNo Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWe enjoyed the room for the most part. There were a few points that we hit a lull and it wasn’t clear what to do next but we ended up getting through it. The theming was decent but some of the props/puzzles seemed to come from a kit because we had experienced them elsewhere. Overall would recommend.
Campsite ChallengeEscape Room XEscape roomIRLWe enjoyed this room. We went in not knowing what to expect but ended up having a good time. The puzzles were challenging yet solvable. The theming wasn’t the best we’ve seen but fit well enough.
The KidnappingBreakout Games - AtlantaEscape roomIRLThis room has a unique start to it. The puzzles flowed well from one to the next and we never really felt stuck. Would recommend.
Escape AnnabelleDeadlock EscapeEscape roomIRLThis room was amazing. It was not very difficult but was challenging enough. The room is built into an actual house and occupies the entire second story so it feels like you are actually exploring an old haunted house. The theming and atmosphere are top notch. It’s not overly scary but definitely has a spooky atmosphere.
Western Bank HeistEscape the Room - St. LouisEscape roomIRLThe theme of this room was amazing. It really feels like an old timey bank and looks very authentic. There’s one particular puzzle involving a magnet that seemed like a major time sink that wasn’t fun but the rest of the puzzles were fun and flowed well.
