Carnival - COMING SOON13th RoomHauntHaunted househad really high expectations for The 13th Room based on the advertising and the price of the tickets. While the concept sounded promising, the experience didn’t quite meet what I was hoping for. One thing that wasn’t very clear is that this isn’t an escape room, but more of a theatrical horror experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t feel very scary or immersive overall. The atmosphere at the entrance started strong, it felt spooky and mysterious but as the experience went on, the immersion seemed to fall apart. The props and decorations could definitely be improved, some elements looked more like store bought decorations than a fully designed horror set, which made it harder to stay in the moment. The actors gave their best effort, but the dialogue often came across as a little cringy rather than frightening, which took away from the tension. I truly think this experience has a lot of potential and I can see the vision behind it. With stronger set design a scarier flow and more immersive storytelling, it could become something really special. I left feeling disappointed, but I’m hopeful that with some improvements, this could turn into a great horror attraction in the future.
