Usually we are group of 4 with my husband 16yo son, but did this as 2 since it is an easier room. It worked out very well. I enjoyed the theme of this room. Very cute. Everything worked smoothly.
The Body ShopRed Fox EscapesEscape roomIRLThe theme is very nice (different and cute). None of the puzzles were very difficult, but there are alot of them which is good. Like the UBoat room, alot of locks in this room. Which is fine, just not as fun as more high tech things. We liked our gamemaster, she was very nice, but were a little disappointed because we had just completed the U Boat room with the same gamemaster and she raved about what a great team we are and how we finished with more than 15 min left. After this room, she said she has the ability to make this room harder. She made it a little harder for us, but should have made it ALOT harder. What the heck? We finished this room with more than 15 min left also. So that was annoying. But to be fair, she showed us the 2 other puzzles she would have added and we would have also easily solved those. We were already looking at those pieces and knew what needed to be done.... but anyways..... if you want this room made harder for you, this is your warning to ask in advance!
The U-BoatRed Fox EscapesEscape roomIRLWe really enjoyed this room and yes there is a cool moment that we’ve never seen before. The game is not linear and there was plenty to do for everyone in our group of 4 very experienced players. The set design was great but it was just missing a little something to take it from good to great. Can’t say what…..
Blast From The Past60 to Escape - GurneeEscape roomIRLThe clock wasn’t working so after 5 minutes the GM came into the room, made us leave, and then start up again from where we left off. A huge disruption to the immersion which is disappointing for as much as it cost. Also, this is one of their easier rooms, made even easier for our experienced group because we solved things nonlinearly just because we could figure out how to solve them without waiting to get to instructions. As a result, we got through incredibly quickly— broke the record for the year. It’s got great theming as all 60 to escape rooms do. This one is just a bit too easy. And lacks a big payoff at the end. We were sort of left with the “that’s it??” feeling. But it was a good enough room. We enjoyed it.
Invasion60 to Escape - MilwaukeeEscape roomIRLWe drove in from Chicago for the day to do this and the pirate room having done all the games in Schaumburg and most in Gurnee. This room was super fun. Like all of the 60 to escape rooms the theme and set design were awesome. Super immersive and lots of fun surprises. My husband and 16yo got hung up in one area thinking they could solve it when they didn’t have all the info yet which left my 19yo and I to do a good portion by ourselves and it was much more fun that way. LOL. So those 2 didn’t enjoy this room as much but my older son and I loved it. Highly recommend this and all the 60 to Escape games. Worth the drive!!
Pirates Curse60 to Escape - MilwaukeeEscape roomIRLWe LOVED this room. We solved all 5 extra games and had tons of time left. Our game master said it was the fastest and best she’s seen a group get all the extra games done (toot toot. that’s me tooting my own horn.). The room is not hard— we basically got through it in about 20ish minutes. But the extra games add a nice bonus. And the theming is awesome as in all 60 to escape rooms. Super fun and worth the drive.
Jurassic EscapeMind Trap Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLUgh. We really wanted to love this room. The production value was awesome. But the escape itself was not good. It was so disappointing. The puzzles to solve were all over the place. One of the logic puzzles is written in a way that actually makes it unsolvable. The mafia room here is sooo good and we had such high expectations. But the new rooms— Vegas and now this— are both highly disappointing. Storm surge was way better than this.
Storm SurgeMind Trap Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLMy husband and I did this as a team of 2 (we usually also have our 19 and 16yo sons with us). We enjoyed this room very much. Theme-ing was awesome. The room flowed really smoothly, nice reveals. I can see why some other reviews complained it was dark, but my middle-aged eyes did just fine. There were no small locks to see numbers on or anything like that. The reason we rated this a like and not a love is because none of the puzzles really blew us away. Nothing that was particularly novel. Though they did all fit with the theme very well. I would definitely recommend this room.
Mystery Manor60 to Escape - SchaumburgEscape roomIRLSince this is one of their easier games, my 18yo son and I decided to do it as a team of 2 (usually my husband and 15yo son are also with us). This room is PERFECT for 2 experienced players. We escaped with 25 min left and didn’t use any clues. The theming is AWESOME. The game flowed so smoothly with lots of fun reveals. Even though it was easier this is one of my favorite rooms at 60 to escape and we have played almost all of them at Schaumburg and Gurnee. Recommend!!
Hidden Temple60 to Escape - GurneeEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room. The set design was beautiful. Very few lock and keys. Everything worked seamlessly. The only thing preventing this from going from like to love is that the game play was a bit too linear for our tastes. It was extremely clear what went next in order. And the puzzles were not too hard to figure out. We got the record for the month and didn’t even use a single clue or “nudge”. Nice room. We enjoyed it.
