Rogue's CoveEscape Hour - VineyardEscape roomIRLIncredibly high production value. Linear gameplay with novel puzzles of diverse types. Tech is seamlessly integrated into game, making experience incredibly immersive.
Excalibur - The Sword of the KingRed Giant Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLNon-linear…good for large groups to spread out and solve. Not really possible to follow clues to escape…must have significant communication with the live actor who will guide you.
Scooby-Doo™ and the Spooky Castle AdventureEscapology - FairfaxEscape roomIRLFun room and very on brand for Scooby Doo. Went with my 14 y/o son and 4 of his friends. Was a relatively easy room…but a few of the puzzles required collaboration to do them quickly (between rooms or maintaining multi-layer puzzle vectors) and some of the 14 y/o goofing caused us to solve a little slower. Pretty good room and nice staff. They were pretty busy with all their rooms on a Saturday night, but they would polite and got us situated quickly.
Chasing ValhallaBreak From Reality Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLI (middle-aged dude) did this with my 14 y/o son and one of his friends (14 y/o). We were able to escape with time to spare and we had a great experience!! It was challenging but workable throughout. The puzzles were interesting and novel, yet intuitive. Flow was clear, linearly connected, and aligned with the story arc for nearly the entire game play. As puzzles were unlocked/discovered, they mostly came with scrolls that gave just the right amount of nudge on what to do next. It contained some cool special effects and an impressive breadth of content (felt bad for the staff as we left…dozens of things to clean up, reassemble, and reset). Everything was clean, legible, and in proper working order. GM was chill and informative. Don’t waste our time with nonsense, but gave us the rules and some critical info for this specific room (how to open a non-standard lock we encountered, a specific caution about “things on/off walls”). Kind, courteous, and enthusiastic. Great experience!
