Excessively long video in the middle of the experience. Otherwise very good.

Portlandia: Our crazy roommate is up to his nonsense again and we needed to find the rent money he's hidden away and pay the rent before the landlord arrived. Prison Break: Locked away in a prison cell, our group of fellow felons had to fly the coop. Pros: The game masters were very kind and gave us a quick orientation to the process before starting each of our games. The set in Portlandia was decorated to look like an apartment room . We enjoyed the puzzles throughout the game all of which were very logical. Prison Break's set was very realistic and the puzzles mostly straight-forward though communication was an issue because of the larger numbers of players stuffed into the room. Cons: We struggled a bit with the sheer number of puzzles in both rooms. That coupled with a major fail in completing the final puzzle led to our inability to make the escape in Portlandia before time ran out. We encountered the same problem in Prison Break with a large number of puzzles to solve and in this case too many people in one room. We did finally escape with only minutes to spare but only by encouraging our newbie playing partners to hurry it along. The concept of a clicking clock is sometimes lost on new players. The immersive set had us feeling a little too trapped perhaps. In the end, a great time was had by all. We would definitely return to Escape Games PDX to play more games next time we are in Portland.

There were several spatial and unique puzzles. There was enough to do and enough space that our three person group could work on different tasks if we wanted

Last puzzle may have not worked completely as intended but they got us past it

One or two puzzles may have been harder for a person with limited mobility, especially if not assisted by other group members and could be difficult if hearing impaired but they have the ability to work around

Had a fun time escaping from the Prison Heist room. Several interesting and clever puzzles that were different and unique - a good mix of tasks that required logic/math, words, physical dexterity, and observation. The set and production value was pretty good with some tech, but most of the locks were 1st gen and required physical keys. Our family of four likes rooms that are non-linear so that we can all work on several puzzles at once - this room was good for that except there just weren’t enough puzzles to keep us all busy. We escaped with over 25 minutes left so I’d rate this a room on the easier side, and I wouldn’t bring more than four people because of space and not enough to do. This would have been a better room if there were only two of us. I’m rating this 3-stars for the room, but an extra star for the great service when we checked in and from our GM Jax, who was friendly and helpful though we didn’t need any hints. She gave us a bounce back coupon for getting out with over 20 min left, which we always think is a nice way to encourage repeat business.

The plot had a good twist, where we weren’t actually trying to break out of prison, but the set could have been constructed better to support the plot of breaking into the warden’s safe - like putting the safe in an actual office, which needed to be accessed extending game play with more puzzles.

Not broken, per se, but there was a puzzle that had a sign on it indicating that it was no longer part of the room, which was a shame because we would have like more to do.
