The GM told us that this room used to be bigger than it is, and they had to downsize to expand their lobby. However, the room makes great use of very little space. Though it says 2-4 players, I wouldn't recommend playing with four as A. it would feel crowded and B. it's not really a divide and conquer room. We played with three (and made it on the leader board!) GM was very kind, super understanding about us being a tad late, and did a wonderful job with our request to only hint to tell us that we indeed had the right code and should try the lock again. Also, free stickers and pins! Great experience. My primary critique is that the audio at the beginning was pretty quiet/fuzzy, and we almost missed what the room objective was even though we were trying to listen closely. Escape RI might want to invest in new speakers.

Fun room, can be done with two people but more would make it faster. The two of us got out with plenty of time but not exactly record breaking. Definitely recommend.

A worthy addition to escape Rhode Island’s line-up, The Mausoleum had many unique and interesting puzzles both mechanical and tech based. I would recommend this game to anyone who wants a great small-team puzzle game. NOTE: This game is very similar to another one of this company’s games in New Haven (The Crypt). Although they have different stories and opening acts, the remainder of the game is mostly the same.
What I’ve come to expect from Escape Rhode Island / Escape New Haven: a great mix of unique puzzles with classics done right.
Aside from a few props, nothing out of the ordinary. It definitely looks good, however.
Escape Rhode Island had some of the best storylines on paper, but it often isn’t ingrained within the game itself.

“"The Mausoleum" definitely set the tone for an eerie storyline.“
