Escape The Hydeout

This was a fun room overall and we had a good time with it. The puzzles were enjoyable and fairly straightforward without being overly difficult. Our group of four made it out with about 20 minutes to spare, which made it a good pace for experienced escape room players. The puzzles themselves were solid and engaging. There were a few that really got the brain working, which we appreciated. That said, the room could probably benefit from adding a couple more puzzles to help fill out the experience a bit more. The biggest thing that felt a little off was the connection between the puzzles and the story. While the puzzles were fun, the reasoning behind some of them and how they tied into the narrative was a bit confusing. Overall, it is a good room if you enjoy puzzles and want something that is not overly difficult. Enthusiasts will likely move through it fairly quickly, but there are still some satisfying challenges along the way.

This was a unique themed room that we haven’t seen before. Really enjoyed the puzzles, the scenery, and the story!

Fun room with a cool set. Our GM was good! The puzzles are not hard but a bit disjointed at times. There are many puzzles/locks. It takes focus to get the first few puzzles moving.

Great room! Some puzzles stumped us for a bit but we got moving again. Very mechanical room and linear. The set was great. Had a great time!

This room was just okay for me. Our game masters were fantastic - they were super helpful and really hyped us up - which made the whole experience better! The main challenge wasn’t the puzzles themselves (once you knew what you were supposed to be looking at, they weren’t too tough), but more figuring out how one puzzle connected to the next. The jumps between them felt random at times, which made it tricky to stay in the flow. The polarity theme was unique but overall, (besides the one puzzle with the bottle), the puzzles didn’t tie into it in a way that made the room feel especially memorable. After the fact, our game master pointed out details that made us ooh and ahh. I would go for the other rooms in this location but this room is still very enjoyable and a good time.

This is a brain intensive room where you will need more brains than brawn to figure out puzzles. It took us about 10 minutes, and a clue, to get us moving in this room but once we got going, we were able to move things along until we hit some clues that just didn’t make sense or we couldn’t figure out what clues went with what puzzle. While there are a lot of locks in this room, it often took 2 separate steps to solve the puzzle to get the combinations. The rooms are well designed and feel appropriate for the story and the time in history when the story takes place. Nothing feels out of place or time. We have completed 3 of the 4 rooms available at Mission Escape (a 5th room is being constructed) and this was the hardest of the 4 rooms because of the broken flow between puzzles. We did escape…2 people, 4 clues, 58 minutes and 40 seconds.
