Alcatraz starts with a strong concept: being locked in two separate cells and forced to rely on teamwork and communication to break out. It’s a promising setup, but the experience overall felt a little underwhelming, especially once past the opening sequence. 👍 What We Liked • Teamwork‑driven opening — Starting in two cells was a great idea and required proper communication to progress. • Three distinct rooms — Moving through multiple spaces kept things interesting. • Clues that spanned rooms — Some puzzles connected across different areas, which added a nice layer of coordination. 👎 What Could Be Better • Glitchy electronics — Several electronic elements didn’t work properly. This made it unclear whether we’d solved something incorrectly or the tech had simply failed, which broke the flow and caused unnecessary frustration. • Underwhelming overall — After the strong start, the room didn’t quite maintain the same level of engagement or excitement. 🎯 Overall Alcatraz has a great opening concept and some solid teamwork moments, but the experience is let down by unreliable electronics and a general sense of under-delivery. With smoother tech and a bit more depth in the later stages, it could be a much stronger room.
