Hoo boy, where do I even start? I really wanted to give The Silence 1 the benefit of the doubt, but for the price tag ($200 for three people), it just didn’t deliver. I normally don’t mind paying more for a well-designed horror experience, we paid a similar price for Project Minotaur, and that one was absolutely incredible. After reading older Morty reviews saying The Silence 1 was on that same level, with a live actor, jump scares, and nonstop intensity, I was excited and a little nervous going in. I will say I was weary of the fact there were not many recent reviews however. The setup seemed promising. The game starts the moment you walk in; there’s no lobby, no lockers, no waiting around. You’re just *in* it. We booked the 7:30 p.m. Sunday slot, and right away I noticed some of the same issues another reviewer mentioned, our game master was also the live actor. That alone changed the tone. He came off a bit rude, like we were wasting his time, and the “hints” he gave felt condescending instead of helpful. As for the “live actor horror” aspect, that was the biggest disappointment. He only appeared once, and it honestly seemed like it was just to fix a technical issue (a door that wasn’t supposed to open). After that, nothing. No scares, no tension, nothing. We were told later that The Silence 1 isn’t meant to be that scary and that we should try The Exorcism if we wanted more intensity. But that contradicts the marketing, which clearly sells this as a horror-themed experience. He stated the live actor is only set to come out a few times and yet he still only came out once so…. Timing also felt off. We arrived right on time and followed the written instructions outside the door, but somehow 30 minutes “had already gone by” after what felt like not long after we started. By the time we finished, took a quick picture, and chatted for a few minutes, we were already driving away by 8:30 p.m., so the whole thing barely hit an hour, if that. This was just odd as we had 9 minutes left to complete the bonus mission, took some time to do that, then stopped for photos and sharing our experience with the GM yet someone was in our car driving away exactly an hour after. Overall, it just didn’t feel like a $200 experience. We wanted to love it, especially after driving 1–2 hours to get there, but the execution fell flat. If you’re looking for a true horror escape room, I’d recommend saving your money and checking out Project Minotaur or another live-actor horror room instead. This one had potential, but the experience we got was confusing, short, and sadly forgettable.
Yes
Paid for a live actor but he only came out once to fix a malfunction.

This was a horror themed room for sure, live actor, similar concept to "Project Minotaur" but done much differently. If you want to experience a room that includes needing to hide to make sure you escape this is one I would recommend. Wear some good shoes and comfy clothes! You'll need it to escape.

Really cool room with a different experience at the end that I have not experienced in any other escape room. Wish there were a few more puzzles but overall had a good time! Would definitely recommend you try it out! Not too scary also. Definitely want to try silence 2 now.
Wish there was a little more puzzles but the flow was nice
One of the rooms was awesome!! Loved the effects and was not expecting it at all
Friendly game master :) love u gm <3

The design seemed good and the immersion of the room was on point, however I wish the puzzle were more complex than what you actually do. The scare aspect was good, didn’t seem to get as scared as I thought and would’ve liked. Without spoilers I wish there was more technology involved to make the puzzle cooler. There was one point that was really cool, but I feel that’s the best part out of all the room. At the end our GM seemed monotone about it all, didn’t seem to have much energy. Overall there are better companies out there that more worth it.
Seemed basic for what is advertised, wish the puzzles were more complex.
Design was good, was hot when we first walked in, actor was good but wish it was more interactive.
Seemed monotone, was welcomed in a fun and creative way, but during the recap just took photo and then we left.

As stated before, seemed too basic for what was advertised on the website.

Amazing experience, and in my opinion, that triumphs over gameplay. There’s a certain segment in this escape room that turns it up a notch, making it a very memorable experience.

I think that this would be enjoyable with a group of family/friends that get scared. As an escape room, it's disappointing because there aren't a ton of puzzles, and darkness adds to the level of difficulty. I got also got frustrated with the built-in hint system that was constantly chiming in. I prefer to be able to reason through puzzles on my own, and ask for hints when needed.
