Everyone wants their dream job, but there's Nuthin like working for the 'Family'! In 1971, located in Jersey City Giovanni’s Italian Deli was commandeered by the infamous Pantano Crime Family as payment for an outstanding gambling debt. Giovanni was allowed to keep running his business as the “acting owner” with the understanding that the Deli would now be one of the Family’s new offices and a front for laundering millions of dollars for the Pantanos. Since your induction into the family you’ve climbed the ranks quickly and have settled into your newly promoted roll as Consigliere or Chief Advisor to Don Dominico Pantano. This is the highest position you can attain without being directly related to the Pantano family. Today is a sad day…you’re attending Uncle Julio Fiorentino’s funeral. He was a beloved Capo from the East Side and there are hundreds in attendance. After the funeral you arrive at St. Vincent’s Hall and Underboss Micuzzu"The Butcher" Nicola instructs you to get back to Giovanni’s deli asap to pick up the food for the reception.

The Sanctuary is top notch for special effects and gameplay, but this room has flaws that seem to be overlooked to make the room more “difficult”. We were one of the first to play this room. Our team had the correct code for a dial combination lock, but the dial was a little loose. 15 minutes later the time runs out. From what I’ve heard, instead of fixing the dial, they offer to take time off to help you unlock this safe.

Design and special effects are amazing! The main reason we always recommend The Sanctuary!
Overtime we have noticed the owner becoming a little more cocky about how hard their games are. As experienced players, we love the difficulty! However, we believe this room has a single flaw that shaves time off, and in turn boosts the fail rate.

A dial combination lock towards the end of the game doesn’t stop on the number you mean to set it on. We were one of the first to play the game when it came out and burnt the last 15 minutes trying to get it to work with the right code. To this day we still hear of players getting stuck on this, and the GMs will take time off your game to come help you. Not the level of service you’d expect from a room with such a high level of immersion and ratings. It should have been fixed a long time ago.

Depends on the time and day. It’s at an outlet mall, so it can get pretty crowded.

Team work makes the dream work. This was the first game I did at The Sanctuary and it was a whole new world. The set was truly impressive. I would recommend doing any escape room with a group that truly works well together (communication, complimenting skill sets, etc) but with the rooms at this establishment success is truly dependent on this. I wouldn’t recommend going into any of the rooms here with strangers or as a first time escape room due to pure difficulty and volume of puzzles and things to do that needs to be effectively communicated.
Not scary
But the end was a little startling.

Flowed great until a needlessly tedious and illogical puzzle at the end that we couldn't figure out.
