Jungle Mystery

Overall enjoyable room run by a very enthusiastic creator.

The room itself is a lot of hide and seek locks and boxes but the few little puzzles are fun and the guy who runs the place is very enthusiastic and super nice. It has a very home made feel which is kind of endearing. Certainly not a terrible room and the game master gives clues that are more like riddles than answers which I found fun. Overall it’s very “meh” as an escape room.

Primarily 1st gen locks and hide and seek,but we enjoy that! Not super techy and some clues written on paper. Some cool tricks and makes sure you’re paying attention/remembering what came from where because there’s so many little pieces. Definitely could use some updating because props are worn, but nothing impacted the game play. I felt dumb because we had the right code to a lock but I just didn’t pull on the lock and that wasted some time.

This room was a tough one for me to rate. I really wish that Morty would add something between a thumbs up and a thumbs down. This one is somewhere in between. It didn’t annoy me enough for a thumbs down, but it doesn’t deserve a thumbs up either. The owner/GM is a very enthusiastic guy and is definitely passionate about his room, which is wonderful. He was a little over the top for me though. There was one really cool moment and one fun puzzle, but unfortunately, that’s about the extent of the positives. Find a key, open a box and inside you’ll find another box with a key in it…….which you use to open something else. Why? It’s not a puzzle, it’s just wasted time. And there was an item in the room with a keyhole that we never actually opened. Although we wasted a few minutes trying to with a couple of the keys. The set is very minimal, and going from a ‘jungle’ into an apartment/office, then back to the jungle room, just didn’t make sense. It’s not horrible, but just not that fun.

The storyline involved obtaining an object from an apartment, and then was set within a jungle and lost the storyline pretty quickly. It had some enjoyable immersive elements, but did have a majority first gen lock and keys. Great intro game for people trying out their first few escape rooms as it kept people involved and talking to each other throughout. There was one puzzle that was difficult to interpret leading to spending a majority of our time there without much time left for the final puzzle.

My partner and I enjoyed this escape room. The puzzles and flows is very well designed.

Great game based on Hilo characters and history. This is such a nice little room run by the creator and owner, Ryan. You can tell he has such a huge passion for his escape room and it shows! This is a modest budget room, and although you shouldn’t expect movie-level set designs, this room has some of the most on-theme puzzles I’ve experienced! Two of the puzzles are definitely stand-outs, and staying on theme for the puzzles definitely keeps the immersion throughout the entire gameplay. I love that there are three difficulty levels to choose from, each allowing a different amount of hints. Definitely a worthwhile visit!
