As the sun slowly begins to vanish behind the mountains, it was the perfect cloudless Summers night. The perfect night to execute the perfect heist. The heist to top them all. Seven months of assembling the finest team of criminal masterminds. 213 days of meticulous planning and precision detailing. Nothing has been left to chance. Every laborious angle has been covered. You’ve received the signal from the gaffa, “it’s on”. Tonight is the night that will change your lives forever. You convince yourself that nothing can go wrong, providing everyone sticks to the plan. You’ve got nine successful heists under your belt now so you are confident that number ten should run just as smoothly. The only difference being, this is the largest robbery of all time and it is onboard a 120 mile per hour moving steam train. The brief is exquisite in it’s simplicity. Hijack the train at Maricopa Station and bring to a halt whilst going through the ten mile stretch at Ropers tunnel. Every member of the crew, has a vital role to play. One tiny error and it could all go drastically wrong. Destiny is in your hands tonight. You will either be living out the rest of your days in luxury, as millionaires…or you will be rotting away in Maine State Prison. Tonight is your time to shine and prove your worth. Can you make the history books and pull off the greatest train robbery of all time?

We booked this as a birthday treat, had we read reviews before booking, we probably would have booked something else. Upon arrival, our host was pleasant, the surroundings sparce and in a warehouse setting, didn't feel overly nice, but went with it. The introduction was okay, felt very scripted, wasn't keen on how you are shown into the room, I feel it's unnecessary, I won't give it away but I think it should be changed. On first sight of the room, it's very old, used, battered, worn and really could do with a revamp. It was a disappointment upon revelation. As we took hold of the game, we found it to be repetitive, in that it was very number focussed, locks that weren't part of the game, everything was linear which was frustrating as we had to go one step at a time, you can't work on something while someone else works on another clue. We needed a clue on a couple of things, one thing because what we needed to see was so dusty, if we didn't look hard we would never have seen it. There was bits broken and tatty around the game, we didn't leave with the same high we have previously felt on other game experiences. On reflection, I probably wouldn't be in a hurry to book one of their other games, based on the condition of this one. It wasn't very immersive, imaginative or gripping. We did escape, we enjoyed it for what it was, but were disappointed.
Host was lovely and friendly. Thank you.

The game was ok, the set is quite old and tired and a lot of things were broken. It had padlocks to say 'dont touch, not part of the game' (why use the same type of padlock?) the game was very code focused and almost all the challenges were about finding a 3,4,or 5 digit code. You have to focus on one thing at a time so you can't divide and conquer! But that did at least mean everything flowed nicely. The end was quite fun. None of the puzzles were particularly exciting or interesting and overall it was slightly disappointing.
Not particularly novel or fun, flowed well
Set was very bare, lots of damaged items, some items marked 'not in game' spoiling immersion somewhat. The ending was a nice touch
GM was nice enough, but was felt very scripted and not especially enthusiastic.

An enjoyable room which we struggled with to start as we broke rule number 1 & didn’t search properly! We needed a couple of pointers along the way, but overall the flow was good, some of the props were cool & what looks like a fairly empty set actually had plenty of puzzles to keep us entertained. Whilst a previous train room at Trapp’d was ridiculously dirty, this one is neat, clean & enjoyable with a lovely ‘on theme’ ending that really made me smile.

You have to squeeze through a gap that an average width person could get through, but which larger people may struggle with.
