At The Hop Ice Cream Shoppe

High difficulty, but really fun.

While I enjoyed the decor and theme of the escape room, I was underwhelmed by the gameplay. The puzzles felt unnecessarily tedious, and a few of them required some leaps in logic that were hard to follow. Even when the direction was provided through a clue, there was no "aha!" moment for me. As a result, I left feeling a bit frustrated and tired, which is not the usual feeling I have after an escape room. Despite all this, I want to emphasize that the staff was friendly and helpful when we needed a clue. The owner who greeted us, was also very welcoming, and the lobby was comfortable and inviting. I still hope to give this place another shot because I love that they are local business who makes their own rooms, and they have come so highly recommended! I honestly think just a few small tweaks could turn this room into at least a thumbs up for me, but that wasn't my experience today.

Fantastic experience and gameplay. We took nearly the full game period and enjoyed the whole game. The game master was fabulous. Loved the music and the decor.

At the Hop was a very cute and fun game which hid a lot of deceptively hard, multi-level puzzling. I feel like the incongruity between the light hearted themeing and the tough puzzles broke my brain just a bit. It also suffered from a lack of feedback at points that cause us to miss important triggers. There was also a point where we skipped a whole puzzle due to an "environmental clue" which felt - wrong This room had alot of good things going for it, but it wasn't my favorite at D2E.

This room was very fun. Lots of tricky puzzles. My only complaint is we solved some puzzles and didn’t know that we solved them because we didn’t hear the drawers open and they didn’t automatically open. That slowed us down a bit. Otherwise it was a very fun game with great music!

This is an interesting theme for an escape room; we’ve seen a few “50s diner” themes but this one delivers the full ice cream shop experience. Some nice environmental puzzles and a few cute interactive elements, with an overall linear flow and the usual array of digit and word locks. We had fun, but the spaces are pretty small: 4 people felt like two too many. Would be a fun time for a two-person team.

We have done almost all the rooms at this location and this place is amazing! Probably the best place we have ever been to. Our GMs have been Cris and Mandy, both were great. They were attentive the entire game and gave just enough information for us to complete the puzzles. This game is super immersive with complex puzzles. The gameplay flows nicely and there are little surprises! Love this place, would definitely recommend.

Reminded me of a movie that I really like! Haha
