35 escape rooms
Missing Maestro features a who-dun-it plotline, where you have to figure out who murdered the man and escape. The “who, how, and why” were part of the questions asked, but none of them really mattered to escape. Many of the locks in this room were mechanical, although there were a few items tricked by sensors. There were a couple locks we didn’t see and needed hints to tell us where to go. Some of the items needed for the lock combos, as well, were hard to see and easy to miss. Most of our clues given were “use this” or “look here” and the puzzles themselves were decently easy to figure out, which I think would make this a great room for kids or beginners. I also love when rooms have no outside knowledge needed, to the point of this room where our knowledge of music actually hindered us because we were thinking too deep into things. Overall, this was a decent room. I had a fun time and everyone at Twisted has always been so nice. I would recommend giving this one a try, although as their first room they opened, it is a bit sparse and relies on puzzles and combo locks.
Everyone at Twisted has always been super nice + helpful! Never had bad customer service any of the times we have visited.

Not scary
There was a jump scare at the end, but otherwise the atmosphere itself wasn’t spooky or scary.

Seemed pretty good to me! Well lit room, one story. Standard doorways, although one of the rooms was a tad small.

Rating: 2.5/5 This room was fine, no major issues but not much to love. The musical theming was very strong (with actual musical instruments) and there were multiple rooms, though the set itself was a bit sparsely decorated. I did appreciate that no outside musical knowledge was required, it's best to keep that in mind since using music knowledge may make you overthink the puzzles. The puzzles were OK, there were a lot of padlocks though there was still some tech/electronic triggers mixed in. They told us this was the first room they made and after playing all of their rooms, it definitely feels that way. The GMs here are always friendly and helpful. I would recommend 2-4 players as the game is fairly linear. My rough ranking of Twisted's rooms starting with my favorite: 1. White Rabbit - Rating: 3/5 2. Submarine - 3/5 3. Cabin - 3/5 4. Sweet Shoppe - 3/5 5. Collection - 3/5 6. Missing Maestro - 2.5/5 7. Christmas Caper - 2.5/5

I was surprised by this game in more ways than one. While the set is rather plain (which is probably fair for a setting of music room), I think the design and ambience could have been adjusted to suit the shifting tone of the room. Also, some of the props seem so old that they’re collecting mold… A moment which is genuinely exciting feels a little staccato as a result. The puzzles are well-themed to classical music, and do NOT require any outside knowledge of music theory. I really like where the narrative of the missing maestro goes, which is why I wish there was just a little more leading up to it. An orchestral performance deserves a worthy buildup before the grand finale.

Wish the set design helped facilitate the good story more though

It may seem child-friendly from the description, but maybe take them to a more family-friendly room
