Wow! What an experience! The cabin trilogy is a must do for escape room enthusiasts who are game for some serious horror! The first chapter is outstanding. For us, it was the scariest out of the three. The immersion and atmosphere were top notch. There was so much uneasiness at every corner...the tension was really good! The lighting was purposefully very dim and so cleverly done. (Chapter 1 is the darkest out of the 3 in terms of visibility.) I will share more details about the scariness in the "how scary is it" section below. But, I will say this: if you have a serious aversion to horror or risk physical triggers at jump scares, you should avoid this room. If you enjoy horror movies (even if you get scared easily) and want the added challenge of solving puzzles, you should definitely experience it! Note: the "scare" level can be adjusted to your preferences (mid-game too) but if you're doing this, try to keep it as close to standard as you can. The game is difficult. However, the puzzles themselves are not hard. But it gets so scary in there, you tend to become paralyzed with fear. Our group fell into this trap initially where we would read a clue and just not do anything about it. That is why it is helpful to have at least one "brave" person in the group who can power through the tension and keep your team on track - there is still an escape room to solve afterall! It is important to pay attention to all the cues because they help your progress. Don't hesitate to ask for help - it's part of the experience in a way. Like all their games, there isn't a visible countdown timer (but you can ask for time checks). You quite lose the sense of time in this trilogy - the immersion is captivating! The staff here is amazing! Kudos to the live actor(s)! The acting, timing, and interactions were excellent. And props to all the staff who stayed in character throughout...even before you start your game and still after completing it. I encourage you to interact with them in character as well. Although each of the rooms can be done as standalone, the best way to experience them is to book the trilogy back-to-end in sequence because the story keeps building meaningfully. Great production value, many surprises, properly scary, and the experience stays with you long after you've escaped (in a good way...hopefully).
Probably one of the best out there in what it has to offer! Truly scary. Ever wanted to experience one of those horror movies with more immersion? And solve puzzles while at it? This is the place! The flow was linear...with a very unique helping element to guide you.
Simply brilliant. Outstanding lighting. It is dark. You will have some spot lighting and "candles" you can carry with you (not real fire ones of course). Set design was excellent and every prop felt a part of the truly frightening atmosphere.
Lee and Reno were great...in character...from welcoming to seeing us off. Our "GM" during the game provided helpful nudges, following our game very closely, responding to our actions, and responding to any questions promptly.
Yes
A proper horror setting with memorable interactions where you experience evolves with your reactions.
One of the few places I've come across where the story actually develops properly beyond the premise (and continues to do so in Chapters 2 & 3). What you're doing is meaningful to the story.
Hard
The puzzles, by themselves, were not difficult. BUT...the atmosphere is so scary that you may not even realize that you have forgotten it's an escape room! And there are several set pieces to be explored and puzzles to be solved. Important to not get bogged down by fear and remind yourself that the clock is still ticking!

It's doable with 4. But you need at least one "brave" person who can handle the stress well in the group if you want to finish the game successfully. 5 may be better because it helps "soak" the scariness better. Any more could be sub-optimal because it may become difficult to communicate effectively.
💩👖
It. is. scary. No joke. But, if you want to, you will enjoy it. (no spoilers but some more details about the experience ahead...skip it if you don't want to know more about the scariness.) We've done an escape room in Lima, Peru that is themed around the Nun (like the movie). That interaction was very well done and scary. This room is scarier. Are there jump scares? Yes. Are they predictable or cued? No. The scares are timed at the best (or worst) moments and react to your group. However, the biggest scare element is the tension and anticipation itself - you feel something is going to get you at every turn. Is there touching? I'll leave it for you to find out. Confirming or denying it will take away from your experience. I will add that the staff put in a lot of effort into what they do. Be respectful and appreciate how they enrich your experience!

I was reading reviews and came across the thumbs down and all the other positive ones. I have to tell you that the person who left the thumbs down had to be old. Don’t like actors? They were amazing! Don’t like light? Well it’s a scary experience! I found nothing wrong with props and the set was incredibly immersive. Just like all the other sets at this location. The puzzles were great and this escape room is scary as hell! Do it!!!! Don’t let the old person scare you off. You would be missing out!!!!

I guess I didn’t read the game summary closely enough. The game has a live actor and we don’t like games that have other people in the room with us, but that’s on me. It’s also very, very low light. My vision isn’t the greatest so this was a struggle for me for the entire game. The room is old and some of the props are so worn down that it’s difficult to make out the markings. Some of the sounds the actor makes are so loud it made my ears ring. It was scary and the puzzles were good and made sense in the context of the room and there were a lot of puzzles. Maybe too many. If the actor wasn’t there to push us along, we would have never finished. Some of the sequences were triggered by the person monitoring us on the camera rather than manipulating in game objects. I wish it was a little more self contained.
Too dark and worn out props

Lots of fun to play. Moody and spooky and atmospheric. Not too scary, but does have some startling moments depending on your actions. Puzzles aren't too hard, but can sometimes be a little rough to keep track of if you have terrible memory like I do. Fortunately they provide a slate to write stuff down on, which is very appreciated. We had plenty of groan worthy moments because we were pretty distracted and missing obvious things, which is all on us. I'm very hopeful I get to try out 2 and 3 someday. This room is absolutely worth your time and money.
Fun gameplay, mixed with memorable interactions.
Moody and spooky without being too scary. The room isn't well lit, which adds to the mystery.
Miranda was exceptional from start to finish.

I liked the experience a lot! It was so much fun! It was my first experience ever! I’d definitely come back with more friends and family, the staff definitely had a lot to do with how things played out and they did such a wonderful job!
It was very fun! The staff explained everything very well beforehand, they were in character before we even went into the room itself, which added to the whole experience! I won’t spoil the rooms, but I was pretty scared and I screamed in the first room LOL! But it was so much fun! The puzzles were pretty challenging! The staff gave us hints if we asked/needed them but in character of course! 10/10 highly recommend!
It was VERY immersive! And the puzzles were very good!
Everyone was nice, and in character! When they broke character it was only to inform us that we could take a break if we needed to, they had water for us to drink if we needed, and if we needed a restroom break we could go at any time! Speaking of the restroom, it was very clean, they had a shelf if tampons and panty liners, an air freshener, and hand sanitizer, it was just a really nice/thoughtful bathroom.
Yes
It was very interesting! Pretty scary, and the puzzles were challenging, but very do-able.
My friend and I did The Cabin chapters 1-3 and they were so much fun! Scary but fun! The story and plot were very interesting! I heard they were expanding the story in other locations too, hopefully I get to go soon!
Hard
My friend and I did all 3 chapters in one day, chapter 1 was fairly easy, it took us a bit but we did it! Chapter 2 and 3 were a lot more challenging though, it took my friend and I a while to figure out some puzzles, but the staff would give us hints or send in an “entity” for some assistance, which I loved cause it added so much to the experience!
High tech
I’d say a bit of both? They had lights and scary sounds playing throughout the rooms, it was such a fun experience!
4
I’d say a small to mid size group would be great for this particular experience since it’s “Horror” I feel like a big group might take away from the whole experience? I’m not so sure, but my small group of friends and I make like 4-5 total and I think that’s like the perfect number for this particular escape room.
Scary
I really enjoyed the room and the atmosphere, but I was definitely jumpy, I was scared to proceed at certain times cause I was scared something was gonna pop out at me or grab me! I was pretty scared! The actors did such a good job!
17
I think for this room you had to be 18+ cause it’s “Horror” and you have to sign a waiver, but yeah 16-17 is probably the youngest that should be allowed in, any younger I wouldn’t recommend.
No
Everything worked fine! The staff did a great job and explaining how everything works and if something didn’t work right to let them know immediately, but in my experience I had no need to, everything worked great!
Yes
In the 3 chapters we met at least 3-4 actors.
Somewhat
It was mostly walking back and fourth and bending down for certain puzzles, but at the end of each one, you had to “run” out or the “entities” will get you. But it’s not like running track or anything, more like jogging out of the rooms.
I’d say it’s accessible, there is one room, it was almost like a closet space and there was a puzzle behind the door, so that spot is not wheelchair accessible, but once the puzzle is solved and the other door opens then it’s no problem.
Yes
Yes it was. They have 2 locations in Austin, or at least from what I saw, and they were right across the parking lot from each other.
Easy
My friend and I took an uber there so we didn’t have use for the parking lot, but the area is big and fairly new, I didn’t see any other businesses there so the parking lot was empty for the most part, but both sides where the locations were, there was plenty of parking.

SPOOKY!!!👻👻 I love a good scare, and this room delivered. It is an escape room must. We just completed chapter 1 and will be back to finish the story. Be ware once you complete one chapter, you are going to be hooked 🎣 to complete the rest.
OMG!! Best room ever!!! It was INtense. Even after the game, it stormed, and I felt I was still in the escape room. It had me peeking around corners.👀
Chillls…chillls…chills. We were entering some parts of the room in a group.😬 No person left behind. The staff stayed in character and made the experience enjoyable and believable.
Like 🤴 and👸🏻or should I say like paranormal investigators? Our GM was in character at the door and didn’t stop.
YES!!!! My mind was jumping here and there and everywhere. You need a keen eye and attention to detail if you are going to escape the cabin.
The drama was high with this one. It felt like we were in a movie.
At least 3. The site used to make 3 for this room but has reduced to 2. I don’t know if we would have escaped with just 2 people.
💩👖
I have never been scared in an escape room until this one and loved every minute of it!
My 11 year old figured out some of the puzzles, but he was definitely a little scared at first. I played my cool and cracked some jokes to get him more comfortable, and he loved the gameplay. I would be more concerned with how well your child can handle the scare factor. Any child can do complete the puzzles if they are playing with a team who is willing to support them.

There was some climbing and crawling. At least 2 people in the party need to be able to climb and crawl. I had ankle surgery 4 weeks ago and was able to manage in my boot.

Thank you for the review of Chapter 1. We're glad the scares hit the right balance and that the experience was fun despite the final outcome. "Ctrl+Alt+DEFEATED" gave us a good laugh - we hope you'll come back soon for a rematch and see if you can escape next time!
