La Nuit Du Loup Et Du Serpent [The Night of the Wolf and the Serpent]

It was fine. The set was well decorated and produced, just not the most grand or ambitious compared to their other rooms we did. The puzzles all made sense and flowed well. The story, especially the ending, could be improved as the ending was fairly lackluster (you are presented with a choice to make but nothing happened aside from the host coming in and saying we were done). I really liked the difficulty of the puzzles though, this room seemed to be harder than the others. Totally fine/good room, just their others are more interesting and engaging throughout.

Some of the coolest set design I’ve ever seen. I think a few of the puzzles took some stretch thinking but overall definitely would recommend the room.

Even though the theme didn’t really grab us, we had a lot of fun—there were some great puzzles we hadn’t seen before, and the visuals were top-notch! We also really appreciated the nice improvements to the hint system in SOS Adventure! All in all, a great experience 😉

Overall, I was disappointed with our experience. The game was acquired by another company, and the original version was much more interesting. The story has been shortened and is less coherent.

Pro: Beautiful room, some skills required which is fun Cons: - Couple of bugs - False indication from game master. Overall: Disappointed, with over 30 escape done which we escaped almost everytime, this one rank close to bottom of my list

This room does not know how to stop, it just continues to provide great action and atmosphere. You can feel yourself in a Viking settlement. Makes great use of some physical skill challenges but the rest is fully on logical puzzles. Few rooms offer a choice at the end and I love that they did that here.

Having played and led groups in the original game, I was unfortunately disappointed by SOS Aventures’ adaptation. It’s not a bad game in itself! I think people can enjoy it! However, some of the puzzles had to be modified, which made solving them a little less fun. The ending, in particular, was rushed—it had absolutely nothing to do with the original experience.

Any Viking fan will be in for a treat. The atmosphere is spot-on, and the puzzles are great. I highly recommend it.

Phew, what can I say. The flow was very disjointed. On top of that, there was one puzzle we managed to solve, but the trigger for the mechanism was so subtle that we had to ask the GM what we were doing wrong, since we were sure we’d solved the riddle. The GM told us we had solved it and pointed us in the right direction. The conversation took place via an iPod with the GM, so responses weren’t very quick. Once again, an experience at SOS Aventure with a GM who lacked presence and wasn’t following the flow of the game. The logic behind the puzzles is pretty mediocre. At the end, we were told that SOS Aventure had bought the game from a company that went bankrupt. We’re not surprised. That was their way of justifying our “lack of fun” during the game.
