31 escape rooms
I liked this room! This was my 31st escape room (26W - 5L) that I solved with four other adults with similar statistics. We needed one hint. The decorations were high quality and in great condition. Many of the puzzles were novel to me and I particularly liked a few of the tasks requiring the wipe board.
The game was fun and I appreciated that most of the puzzles were non-linear so that our group of five could spread out and tackle tasks simultaneously. No one was just standing around (unless they were confused...).
The decorations and puzzles were high quality and in great condition. The room was in theme, including the hint and time dispenser (funny!) and a fun game to play.
Our GM was polite and very helpful. She knew when to give us a nudge and when to sit back and let us work through a problem a little longer, which we appreciated.
Yes
The room was very in theme for a high tech lab. I think I have only encountered one other Lab escape room so far, so it was novel to me.
I liked the story and definitely liked the puzzles and props. Everything flowed well.
Hard
We played three rooms at MindTrap today and I think this was a little harder than Gold Rush but easier than 40 Thieves. A group of two very experienced players could probably solve this room, but four or five was more comfortable for us.
High tech
There were a few mechanical tasks but the room was mostly high tech. My group prefers mechanical but we still really enjoyed the room.
4
A group of two very experienced players could probably solve this room, but four or five was more comfortable for us. I have only played 31 games so far (26W - 5L) so I still consider myself a newbie. Having more brains was helpful.
Not scary
The lighting is low, but the game and props are not scary.

This room would be fun for families, as long as the adults are pretty experienced.

Everything was in great condition.

No actors, thank goodness...
Somewhat
There is walking around, but nothing strenuous.
Hearing and vision are important, but the room might be ok for players with mobility challenges.

MindTrap just does an excellent job with their rooms. This was my second room that I have done with them. This was a medium sized room and had some great challenges. Very much enjoyed the room. Storyline was great to follow and the challenges were great for a group of 4. One of the challenges seems to be a little broken, still doable, but does need repair to make the experience better. Don’t let that stop you though!! I recommend booking multiple rooms at this place. They know what they’re doing.

Overall i really the puzzles and the immersive environment! I think this is also a great room for people that have done 1-10 range of escape rooms, please it’s not super difficult but it requires you to divide and conquer in small teams. It’s non-linear but it was not to difficult to solve the puzzles. We did it with a group of 4 people and finished with 16min left. Definitely recommend!
Very nice flow. As you complete tasks there are interactive pieces around the room to give you an idea about how far along you are in the game. The ending is super cool!
Very cool environment!
There’s a little pump feature that was kinda broken and took a bunch of time to pump water through because it wasn’t working properly

We hadn't expected this room to be as tricky or enjoyable as it was and were pleasantly surprised by it! Conspiracy does a great job at utilizing technology and codebreaking to really test escape room enthusiasts. Our group consisted of 2 adults and a 10 year old who have each done 20+ escape rooms. We were able to complete this room with just over 15 minutes remaining and 1 hint. We initially struggled due to the lack of traditional elements but quickly fell into a groove once we understood how the codebreaking and technology played in the room. This made for a unique experience that vastly differed from most rooms that rely on riddles or lock and key puzzles. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend this for less experienced players or those who can't figure out technology well as this was definitely a challenge that tested players' ability to connect the dots, recognize patterns, and be observant to the little details stashed around the room. Extremely enjoyable and rewarding for those who love a challenge. The awesome staff at MindTrap only adds to the experience as you can be sure that your GM will let you play exactly as your team desires with as many or as few hints as you want.
This was an awesome room with several unique aspects that delighted us. The beginning can be a bit slow while your team figures out the start but, afterwards, it continues on very smoothly with each clue cleverly supplied in a way that makes most of the puzzles intuitive and fun.
We love the feel and design of this room! It was very dim and dark at times but you are given a light to ease this when needed. If anything, the dim lighting added to the overall feel of the room without causing too much eye strain or complications.
Our GM, Dante, was awesome along with all of the staff at MindTrap. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and appreciated how everyone was enthusiastic yet concise about each experience and the instructions involved.
Yes
There were several scenarios that gave us that "ah ha!" moment we all love to experience in escape rooms. The uniqueness and overall design of the room make it stick out in my memory, especially when compared to most other spy or espionage related rooms.
Simple and cliche story that is followed quite well and seen through to the end. The entire experience is well designed around the story and the props/elements tie right into it without having to stretch a fact or two in order to make it all fit.
Hard
If you are not good with technology, ciphers, or codes, I would expect to ask for some help. This room is not impossible to solve but can take a bit of adjusting once you grasp the concepts. There are also several puzzles that require teamwork or running around, making it harder if you have a smaller team.
High tech
This room is definitely on the high tech side and does a great job of testing players' ability to deduce how each code and piece of technology work or fit together.
4
This game is definitely best played by a smaller experienced group of no more than 4 players. While it can accomodate more, some of the areas are small enough that too many players can make it feel cramped. Less experienced groups could benefit from having more players, but it can get to be a large team effort at the end to solve the last few puzzles.
Not scary
There is a moment of darkness at the beginning that can disorient some and be mindful of loud popping and hissing at the end that can startle children.

This is a rather dim room that heavily uses codes and tech, which can stump younger players.

Although the way you get hints and time reminders is surprisingly unique and amusing.
Very
The smaller your group, the more you will be moving around the room. This is especially true at the end when you finally figure out the purpose of certain things that are scattered throughout the entire experience and have to either rely on good communication or a lot of moving around.
I would consider this room very accessible for those with mobility issues. There are a few items and levers located a bit higher up but this can be remedied by having at least 1 person on the team without mobility issues. The room is purposely dim so it may be difficult for those with vision impairments to properly play. Color and sound are similarly involved, making this room difficult for those who can't easily distinguish colors or hear instructions.

Celebrated a friends birthday in this room and it was SOOOO fun. The room was so detailed and it was hard to not want to stop and just admire! The puzzles weren’t too hard for us but then again we had a party of 8 so keep that in mind. All in all great room, definitely suggest giving it a try!

There was one fun/creative find, and one interesting puzzle type that I haven’t seen before and liked a lot. Flow was good in theory; a bit clunky to do with our large group (9 people). I did like the nonlinear aspect, but there was some funneling at the beginning that held us up for quite a bit and we didn’t realize it was a funnel - so we were working on several puzzles that we didn’t have all the pieces for yet without realizing we needed to solve the one puzzle first to GET the pieces for all the other ones — once we solved the funnel, THAT’S when it got more nonlinear. (In hindsight, there were hints at the funnel puzzle being important to do first, but we overlooked those.) Fun was mid. Overuse of alphanumerics made it feel “hard” due to being overwhelming/confusing/convoluted rather than puzzles being interesting/challenging. Puzzles had multiple steps but few required any cleverness to figure out. The fun generally came from discovering how the puzzle pieces fit together, not from aha moments when figuring out puzzles. I think some puzzles could have been refined to reduce ambiguity in how to solve them. (I prefer a puzzle whose solution feels obvious once you realize what it is rather than a puzzle where you have three different ideas for how to solve it that all seem equally valid.) Atmosphere: Set was immersive with mix of tech and physical props. Hint system was creative and well integrated. Not many special effects, but those used were solid. GM was super friendly, communicative, and eagerly answered all questions. Felt like hints were too detailed too quickly — basically telling us how to solve the whole puzzle when we were only missing one piece. Felt like maybe the hints are pre-written rather than custom, which is fine, but then having different levels of hints would be preferred (eg first hint just directs to a puzzle to focus on, vs second hint directs to a piece to consider, vs third hint can give away the solution).

Very dim/dark; would be near impossible for vision impaired. colorblind would be an issue for two puzzles. Hearing needed for one puzzle. Mobility wasn’t an issue, but space is small so might be too tight for a wheelchair.

Great room! The puzzles are on the easier side if you’ve done a lot of games. The immersion was incredible and the puzzles did flow well! Smaller group is best! Completely worth the money.
