Sure Lock Escapes recently discovered the E.S. Caper, an infamous pirate ship known to have a particularly scallywaggish crew, shipwrecked among the cliffs of Cypher Island. No one yet has been found who is brave enough to board the ship, for the promise of danger is nearly as certain as the promise of great treasure and adventure. Will you be the first to venture into the hull of the enigmatic E.S. Caper to discover what mysteries lie within?

I’m not a huge fan of pirate ship rooms but this one is better than most.

Clever pirate room… good use of the story telling puzzles…

This was our first room at SureLock and we really liked it. The room itself is well-decorated and immersive, which really enhances the experience for us. This room relied more on mental puzzle-solving and keys/locks than complicated props or special effects, but everything was on-theme, flowed well, and we kept a good momentum. Really enjoyed the soundtrack at the end, and our GM was great. Solid A.

Overall it we liked this one. Not our favorite here, but the puzzles were simple enough and fun. We had great GM Katie that was very enthusiastic for escape rooms and we appreciated that!

Fun escape room with cool decor! Most puzzles were familiar types of escape room puzzles but there were a few we never encountered before and got a bit stuck on which was a nice challenge. GM gave nice clues that were still puzzle-y. Camera in room and clues given through speaker.

So fun! This is a great room for people who have never done an escape room and want to know what it’s like. The gameplay and atmosphere were better than most escape rooms overall, but didn’t feel as rich as the other rooms at Sure Lock Escapes. Overall, very good.

70 minute escape, and we needed just about all of it! Fantastic, from floor to ceiling!
Incredibly fun! Felt like a theme park and an escape room combined. Multiple “for fun” moments that actually tied into the gameplay and were legitimate puzzles in and of themselves. I was aching for more when it was over.
Floor. To. Ceiling. I don’t think I’ll ever shut up about how immersive the room was, down to the tiniest prop. The only thing that could have possibly broke immersion would be the combo locks, which there were few. The room had as themed-out key locks as they could fit, which was awesome to see. Not to spoil, but there was a part that made me giddy with anticipation, which is something I find sort of difficult to come by the more escapes I do.
Our GM, Peek, was fantastic! They were great joking with us the whole time, and gave help on very specific questions we asked.

Plenty of surprisingly refreshing puzzles that reignited my escape fever. Unique ways to introduce different puzzle pieces I would have never thought of. Kept us on our toes
Never lost the plot, even for a second. The entirety of Sure Lock is based around one central theme, and we could feel it as we moved through. Really felt like part of the adventure, not just going through it. The music definitely aided as well
Hard
I would for sure recommend more people for this room as it’s non-linear, but it was a great challenge!
Mechanical
Mostly everything was tactile and lock-based, and I believe all the tech stuff was theming rather than puzzle solving.

We went with 2 people, but I’d suggest 4. There was a lot to do!

Some elements of this escape I could see young kiddos either being spooked by or not listening and crawling into spaces they shouldn’t. I wouldn’t bring very young kids in here, personally.

There *was* an issue with a key getting jammed, but it was our fault, not theirs!

Did have to do some serious bending over for one part. As someone with a spinal condition, I did have my partner do it instead, but there was nothing in the room that we both had to do physically in order to continue.
Pretty accessible when in a team. As I said, there was a point where one of us had to crane down to do something, but there was no rough terrain or anything that would cause those with vision/mobility impairment to not participate in the game. The GM speaker is a bit quiet, and as someone with a slight hearing impairment, we did have a little issue hearing our GM the first time, but past that point I think they turned their volume up.

We have played a lot of escape rooms, and this one is for sure one of the best. We did the Shipwreck room, and it was very well done. Sometimes lighting can be a real problem, but not here. The puzzles were hard, but easily solvable. There were unique puzzles in the room, that made it a lot of fun. The gamemaster, Ruby, was totally awesome and very helpful. Everything was clean and felt safe. Overall, a great experience and will definitely go back for the other rooms.

Had a fun time at this room, run by our GM Tiberius. There's a lot of opportunity to divide and conquer on different puzzles and I liked all the different types of puzzles and how they fit into the theme of the room. After the room I had to go back and ask about the puzzles I didn't participate in because we got through the room so fast that puzzles were getting solved in a blink of an eye - we were told it was one of their two easiest rooms. Great for families and beginners, in my opinion

Great atmosphere. Two downsides: unnecessarily dark and a lot of read. Otherwise a good time.
