Houdini

This is a very interesting room that really tries to bring alive many of Houdini's illusions by the way it incorporates them into the puzzles. Overall we found the puzzles to be engaging and very cooperative which is something we always look for in a room. The ending was perhaps one of the most exciting of the games at Escape City too. The only are lacking was the overall atmosphere inside which was flat and sterile. The room could have done with more soft furnishings and props to raise the immersion rather than just lots of posters on the wall. But aside of this, it's a fun room which is great at 2 or 3, if experienced.

Houdini manages to capture the magician theme very well, with some magic tricks in the room that the players can participate in it. The start of the game focuses on Houdini as an escape artist, which ensues in some fun starting positions for the team.. All in all we really enjoyed the big footprint of the game, the effects, and the variety of puzzles. I’d definitely recommend playing Houdini! A negative we had about the whole location though: there’s a cool bar area where you can hang out after the game, however it’s also the waiting area. Unfortunately some aspects of the game were spoiled for us, as the team before us were discussing their game with the Game Master. The staff should be a bit more aware, or try to separate pre and post game teams more.
