Escape from the evil puppeteer A parallel universe pulls you into another time, a time when a puppeteer had a big dream. Day and night he worked on the perfect idea to make his puppet theater more successful and to earn his daily bread with it. For a long time luck was not on his side until one day he found a doll that was able to speak. They got along wonderfully and together they conquered the world with their increasingly famous shows. The puppeteer was happier than he'd ever hoped. But one morning this doll had disappeared without a trace, and with it all of the puppeteer's belongings. After pitiful attempts to recreate such a doll, he finally got so angry that he made a terrible decision. In the future only humans should bring his theater to life. The first big performance is supposed to start in an hour and the people are already occupying the many seats in large numbers. However, the first group to enter the theater has not been seen since arriving.

230 escape rooms

Steampunk Puppeteer by Finest Escape was our third escape room of the day, and the last one for Day 1 of our Bavarian Escape Tour with our group of 4. It’s also the third room we’ve played by Finest Escape, and another of their original 4 games from when they first opened over 7 years ago. The experience kicks off with a strong intro and solid in-character acting by the GM, setting a good tone from the start. The steampunk theme is beautifully executed, great set design, props, and atmosphere throughout. I personally have a soft spot for steampunk, and this room delivered. The lighting and sound effects complemented the theme nicely, keeping the immersion alive. The puzzles were well integrated with the environment, using a mix of padlocks and automated mechanisms. We escaped with 4 minutes to spare, making this one a bit more challenging than The Secret of the Dead Monks. After finishing, we were offered a photo opportunity with the GM/actor, which helped add character to the otherwise generic photo location used across their rooms. Recommended for all players, especially newbies looking for a charming, well-themed introduction to escape rooms.
