This is one of the most unique rooms I’ve played as far as set design, puzzles and overall concept is concerned. There are some genuine masterpieces in there which are unmatched. There’s a lot to do and you have to work hard but it’s also the type of room you don’t want to rush though. Take some time to look at the love and attention that’s gone into creating this environment.

We found this room difficult. My team mates had been before and didn’t manage to escape (there was only 2 of them) but we managed to this time, there are a couple of tricky puzzles that took us a little while but we were very new to escape rooms at this point. The last part of the room is really fun so hopefully you manage to get to that part!

One physical element at the end but I think you could skip it if you didn’t feel able as it’s technically once you’ve escaped!

On the whole, a solid game with multiple rooms, lots to do and some great sets. Some of the puzzles were multilayered and a little tedious, as though they were out there to pad the experience out. I think that more could have been made of the final space in the game. An enjoyable game, but it didn’t blow me away like others have.
The sets were great but could have been more atmospheric with music/soundtrack.
Welcoming but the briefing and scene-setting wasn’t very polished. GM attentive with hints when asked.

Some novel scenes which made us excited and smile. Though some of the puzzles they contained were a little tedious.
The story wasn’t the strongest.

Lots to do, but some of the puzzles are what I call ‘time sinks’.
Mechanical
Some cool bits of tech. Lots and lots of boxes and padlocks though.

Really torn on this one. Ambitious concept with some genuinely cool features and effects, but gameplay was incredibly uneven, with many puzzles ranging from worn and fiddly to outright broken.

Beautiful room but felt like some of the puzzles weren't very intuitive overall. I think my biggest issue though was the lack of music! Felt like we were in silence the whole time. One area I absolutely loved though!

Didn't get on with this room at all. Wanted to enjoy it, as massive set, but struggled from the start, okish in the middle and then got stuck at the end again. A lot of people love this room but not for me.

Overall I enjoyed Shamley’s. It is a fun room and it is so massive with a lot of different puzzles to enjoy and you never know what to expect as you move between rooms. I think one of the main things that makes it difficult is the sheer number of puzzles. We really cut it close with the timing even with a team of 5. I think some puzzles aren’t very intuitive which could be frustrating and I didn’t feel as immersed as I did in their other room that I’ve done. However, it is still a really good room! Just make sure to have a big team with experienced escapers if you want to get out in 90 minutes 😊 I also really enjoyed the initial introduction and the set design was incredible.
