As newbies in the F.B.I. You've made one too many mistakes. The director was ready to let you go, but he received a call about a murder at the iconic mystery gates theme park. With the department's a-team unavailable, he decided he would offer you an all-or-nothing case to prove yourself worthy. The challenge: solve the murder at mystery gates in 60 minutes, fail and you are out of the department for good! Will you earn your badge or leave the matters of the case Unidentified?

I really like how all the experiences at Escape Warehouse are thematically linked, and this one serves as an intro to the overarching storyline. I’d highly recommend you play this room first. Without spoiling anything, the beginning of the room has a couple of unique elements that really draw players into the “dark carnival” setting that, as FBI agents, we are tasked with exploring. There are “Agent Checklists” throughout the room that provide guidance in terms of what the players should be looking for, and how to implement that information to progress the narrative. These make the room a little on the easier side, and perfect for newer players who may not be familiar with some of the patterns and puzzles that are commonly used in escape rooms. While the buildout of most of the experience is both convincing and beautifully chaotic, the Funhouse is too small and a little underdeveloped…it reminds me of the forts I used to build in my basement as a kid. I’d prefer to see less space used for the “Ticketing” area and more space utilized here, as it’s a prime opportunity to dial up the drama of the narrative even further.

Rating: 4.5/5 - Really fun, awesome theme park vibe, puzzles fit the theme Pros: ➕ Intro was a surprise and fun to experience ➕ Loved the puzzles and how they felt like things you would do in the specific situation. Some were a bit task or game-like which I enjoy. ➕ Set had good theming and I enjoyed discovering each area. They even went through the effort of decorating the ceiling. ➕ I liked how they added some playful elements to the set, but made the items make sense based on the theme. ➕ Costumes available, they add to the immersion ➕ Great use of lighting effects ➕ Interesting storyline that ties in with their other rooms, the ending of the room was satisfying enough. ➕ Mostly tech with some mechanical locks mixed in, also some simple physical challenges ➕ GM was friendly and great to talk to, though we didn't need her help during the game Room for improvement: ➖ From a set quality standpoint, there was a lot more painted plywood than I would've liked. Their other two rooms seem to have better use of materials. ➖ Some areas were a bit dark, would've liked if they provided some flashlights. We played as a team of 4 enthusiasts and finished with well over 15 min left and no hints, it is not a difficult room, I'd recommend 2-3 players. My ranking of all 3 rooms here so far: 1. Shhh! 2. Unidentified: The Case of Mystery Gates 3. Hide + Seek

Logan recommended we start with this one, it is the prequel to the story but also the easiest. It is accurate to the websites ratings on thriller and scare. Logan was a great game master for all three games.

This was a great room. I brought my children. We needed a little bit of help but not much. Won't spoil it but the entrance to this game was a really cool surprise!

Incredible game! Amazing set design; fun puzzles; great staff! The vibes are very similar to Magnifico’s Circus (2024’s #1 game) and I was loving it!!

This was our first game at Escape Warehouse and it was the correct opening. Loved the details in this room. You feel like you are really on the midway of an amusement park. Puzzles were fun and flowed well with the story. Very immersive. Escape Warehouse rooms are really top notch.

I absolutely love this company, I love this game, I loved the game master (shout out Logan). We did all 3 at this location, even though we only planned to do 2. This game was so much fun. We breezed through it, but it was still really fun.
