The Storm

2nd timing visiting 60 to Escape’s Milwaukee location and The Storm was another fantastic experience. We have done all 6 Woodfield rooms and 5 of the 7 Gurnee rooms, so we knew this would be another great room. The Storm had an impressive set design and multiple rooms to explore. There was lots of fun tech used in the rooms and the “storm conditions” made you feel like you were on a farm, and in a farmhouse, during a tornado. There were fun tie-ins with some movies, and there was one puzzle that you had to be very observant at the correct moment. The room did not have as many puzzles as some of 60’s other rooms, and we could not get into a great flow like we usually do. We went down the wrong path with one puzzle and it used up a lot of time. We had an “off” night with our solving skills, but, luckily, this was an easier room and our GM (Molly) provided some timely hints to ensure we would not get swept away in The Storm. As usual, customer service was fantastic and everyone we interacted with upon our arrival was really fun to talk with. The Storm was another great room from 60 to Escape.

Our group ran all of these rooms and we started with this room. I would say this is a good room to start with if you also want to play multiple games here!

This is probably the weakest room at this location and also the weakest between the Schaumburg location and this one. However, it’s still above average when compared to other companies. Everything flowed very well, and the gameplay was clear. It was also immersive and a unique take on the theme. We escaped with about 7 minutes left and no hints used as a party of 4.

I was not expecting to love this room as much as I did but they took a relatively unique theme and really explored the implications for all they were worth. Looked great. Excellent atmospheric effects. Very fun and occasionally clever puzzles.

This was my favorite game at any of the three of 60 to Escape locations. The set and story/characters really stood out to me as well done and fun. There's some obvious movie homage-ing going on, and I think 60 to Escape pulled it off well. What puzzles asked us to do made sense in-universe, or at least were themed well. That's not to say everything was perfect. Specifically, I thought the ending puzzle suffered due to its ambiguous design - we instantly knew generally what we wanted to do, but guessing the correct interpretation that the game wanted (when there were several alternate, equally compelling solutions) was a letdown.

Fun room with a fun concept! Well built. Lower overall number of puzzles, but some unique challenges.

Least favorite of the 60 to Escape rooms. It’s rated the easiest but certainly was not in our experience. The puzzles seemed convoluted and the room did not flow as well as the others.

My least recommended from 60 to escape milwaukee, but still a strong contender especially for new players! Fun set designs straight out of a movie like twister and unique twists you wouldn’t catch coming! Some of the nonlinear ouzzles feel a little confusing with a lot of back tracking to the first room, not necessarily a negative element but something to get used to throughout the adventure. The storm noises can also become a little overstimulating, but very accurate to a real storm and incredibly immersive with wind and fog machines. A tad easy, as designed, but overall a solid entry for the newest game in their milwaukee location and a good recommendation for new players wanting a fun experience!

Set decoration and atmosphere was very transformative. The difficulty and amount of puzzles makes this a great room for smaller groups with beginners. The story was fun and humorous, wishing there was a bit more to it by the end. Overall, the room was very entertaining but left us wanting to have even more to do in the environment!
