The Mad Scientist [prev. The Laboratory]

Great room! Not a lot of tech, but some really good, unique, fun puzzles and challenges!

This room was super puzzle-centric. I loved it cuz my girlfriend and I would tackle separate puzzles at a time but eventually they all correlated. I stopped by a brewery prior to this room, and I don’t know if it was the cider but I was connecting these puzzles so fast that the GM Lyo came in and added a bunch more puzzles as we were finishing the ones she laid out. Thats the coolest part, the GM can add more puzzles to the room as needed. We finished all the ones she laid out for us and allowed to tackle the last set of puzzles at the end which is the hardest one. Loved all 3 rooms. Pick any, you won’t be disappointed

Great room that was fun and challenging. Love that so maybe of the games can be played in parallel. The gamemaster came in and actually increased then new/difficulty as he saw we were finishing it quickly which we appreciated

This game is replayable! Depending on your group size youngat get more or less puzzles. And for the average sized group. You can complete the room and be able to come back a 2nd time and experience all new puzzles. The puzzles were creative and original. Some I haven't seen anywhere else

Such a great room for big groups who don’t mind tackling multiple puzzles at once and helping each other in between. It was still exciting to go through it at the end to see what everyone did.

Different take on an escape room. Played a few years ago but you basically chose your difficulty level which determined how many puzzles you were doing and the puzzles were like separate stations. The flow was displayed on the wall to show the order to do the puzzles. A few interesting puzzles I don't see often. Location not ideal/ not the safest feeling.

Offering various levels of difficulty, I think possibly based on number of people, the game offers various linear paths working in parallel to the final goal. This allows people to break a part and work on individual paths or together as an option. Puzzles within each path are purely linear. Plenty of puzzles offer some interesting takes and some unique executions making them interesting to do, and a few unique challenges along the way.

Puzzles, lots of puzzles, different levels and styles of puzzles, but all fun puzzles to be done with your favorite fun people. This is a perfect example of what a difference well thought out execution makes. This doesn't have the big set design and gadgetry we often talk about in rooms, but the designer takes what could have been just a string of puzzles and elevates it into one of the most fun escape rooms I've done with my friends. Yes, it's lots of puzzles, but they're all different, they're all clever, and we had so much fun working separately and together that it highlights everything I love most about escape rooms.

This was actually our very first experience with Brain Games, and escape rooms in general, about two years ago. We had a blast, and we were so thrilled to hear they were opening more rooms in the space. Highly recommend, and this one is a great room for “beginners“.
