You find yourself trapped in a strange Laboratory belonging to the mad scientist Dr Crowl. As you search the room, you quickly notice a bomb and a timer counting down. You also see several peculiar objects. Some you recognize, like the 3D printer pen, the burning laser or the vat of slime. Others you have no idea. They must be the key to survival, but can you figure it out in time?

This is a super fun face paced room! Even better if you’re a divide and conquer type team. LOTS of fun things to figure out. You even get to use all your senses.

15 escape rooms

In my opinion, this room was underwhelming; it felt more like a science activity room than an escape room, and most of the puzzles were solved with minimal thought/skill. Although there were some novel elements and puzzles we hadn't seen before, the vast majority of the puzzles were exceptionally easy. Would not recommend more than two experienced adult players, there is definitely enough time to get through all 31 puzzles. A good number of the puzzles could be completed in less than 2 minutes. The theming is just alright, neither strong nor very poor. The room is broken up into 6 linear puzzle tracks finishing at a final puzzle, starting with 3 tracks unlocked. The GM stops you before the final puzzle to reveal the 4th and 5th tracks if you have enough time, then the 6th if you have enough time after that. My group of 2 completed the first 3 tracks with 40 minutes remaining, as we opted to experience the puzzles together instead of splitting up to speedrun. We completed the 4th, 5th, and final puzzle with 5 minutes to spare... caveat to follow. The room was missing one of the items needed to solve one of the later puzzles, and the GM didn't notice this until we spent ~15 minutes trying to solve it without the item. We picked up the hint phone and another GM came to give us the missing item, but we didn't get any time back, so we weren't left with enough time on the clock for the 6th set of puzzles. After the final puzzle was completed, it took a minute or so for the GM to notice. The employees were all nice enough, but I didn't feel like the attention to detail was there. Overall, I don't think I would recommend this room. It's a fairly well-maintained Gen 1.5 room with many very easy puzzles and some moderately challenging ones, but nothing really set it apart for me. Our experience was only OK.

An absolute puzzle fest with adaptive gameplay to give groups of all experience levels a full and satisfying game. While the environment and story lean more simplistic, there’s a large number and huge variety of puzzles, many of which fit the theme nicely. While many of the puzzles seemed old-school (not a bad thing!), they all felt elevated or included a small twist to make them feel special, including a couple of unique elements we’ve never experienced in an escape room before!

Gameplay

Puzzles are the star of the show here. You’re initially given a few puzzle tracks you can work on simultaneously, but if you’re moving at a faster pace, your GM can add additional puzzle tracks mid-game to keep you busy the entire time! A wide variety of puzzles, many of which fit the scientist theme, and each puzzle track revolved around its own theme and iterated on its mechanic in interesting ways.

Atmosphere

The environment is rather plain, but many of the props you use for the puzzles are unique, fun to interact with, and many fit the theme.

Customer service

Jon was fantastic, helping us in just the right way when we asked for hints, and chatting with us after the experience.

Difficulty

Expert

Finishing the base game is average difficulty, but if you’re trying to finish every single puzzle track within the time, it’s rather difficult. If that’s something you’re after, a slightly larger group that’s willing to split up might make it easier.

Some cool tech used throughout, but more reliant on locks and keys/combos.

One puzzle wouldn’t complete the end action even though we had it correct, but our GM quickly moved us along, and it was a tiny blip in the experience.

Accessibility

Completely flat and level to get from the parking lot to the game. No steps, climbing, ducking, or crawling. Most puzzles are easy to reach, but a couple of items are higher up. Clues are given via audio on a phone or visually on a screen. Not much reliance on color to solve puzzles.

The front door was always unlocked and easily accessible. One prop requires some common sense practices to avoid injury, but instructions are clearly posted.

This room is puzzle heavy! We felt like rats in a laboratory as we split up to solve a wide variety of lock and key puzzles. This is a perfect room for people who want to get straight to solving puzzles, as there is plenty to do for everybody involved. Jon is a constantly great GM who gives so much to the experience.

Similar to Treasure Island this is made for people who want to do a lot of stuff. You will definitely have to split up in this room and there are probably puzzles you will not interact with at all. The puzzles I did were very enjoyable and my favorite puzzle is in this room. The story and atmosphere give leeway to the gameplay but are well executed for what they are.

Our GM Jon was very helpful, funny, and convincing in his role as a German assistant professor. His frequent use of the word "and" was a great touch.

This one requires lots of smartie pants brain power so thankful for my group to carry us through this one, haha. Would be heavy feat for a group of 2 unless y'all are expert pros. Lots and lots for a group of 4 to do. The room can adjust to the group though, can ask your GM for more details on this. Loved the storyline share by our GM Jon, can't believe we got to experience 4 different personas by him with 4 different voices/accents all day today lol. Dankeschön, Jon!

Fantastic room! Old school with a lot of locks, but all the puzzles were fun and there was clear direction on when to do each puzzle. So many clever puzzles. I especially loved that the faster you go, the more puzzles you get to do.
