This was the closest challenge Iβve had in a while! Our group of three had to be working hard the whole time, often working in parallel. It was a nicely nonlinear room for that, with several puzzles best solved by parking someone in front of them to churn through the decoding.

Wow. Red Fox's reputation preceeds them in this room and it's seen in every little detail. From the authentic looking valves and dials in the engine room, to the set dressings and mechanical elements, this room is FUN. Bonus points if you're into ships and submarines like our group was. A FANTASTIC room by a group that shows they really love the craft.

Immersive elaborate set. Great room, though not as good as the Body Shop room. Does include a fun surprise element that we enjoyed.

4 is good but the room is large enough with enough puzzles to easily support 6 people and not have people standing around with nothing to interact with

A really well done room all around! The puzzles are interesting and make great use of the theming and space, and there are SO MANY of them throughout! We were never bored, and every moment felt intentional. We had a group of 4 and finished with about 12 minutes remaining. As is true of all Red Fox rooms, U-Boat is an exceptional experience. Highly recommend!

From the deepfake Patrick Stewart who set the stage to me hitting my head extremely hard on the parascope. This game falls flat. Especially in comparison to their other rooms. The puzzles are underwhelming and the gameplay flow is super lackluster. Our GM didnβt really give too much enthusiasm and after our game ushered us out very quickly. Wouldβve been nice to be offered some water and a place to sit after hitting my head so hard. Play something else here. This game should be axed.

This is one of the most incredibly well-designed escape rooms Iβve ever experienced. The set, props, and special effects are incredible. There was a diversity of puzzles and it really was so unique. However, we were a team of 2 and unless you are an experienced escape room team, this one is really tough for a two person. There was a lot of going back and forth and a lot of information given that you need to sort through, so definitely for a four person group at a minimum if youβre first-timers. But an incredible room and there was a moment where I had to audibly *gasp* just due to the sheer quality of the special effects.

One of the best escape rooms that we have done in New England! We had Giovanni and Joey (I hope I spelled their names correctly) as game masters for our rooms (we did all three) - and both did an amazing job. The rooms themselves are incredibly high production value, with many delightful and novel approaches to puzzles. As enthusiasts who have done ~100 rooms together, my husband and I were surprised and delighted to find this gem not too far from home. UBoat had some puzzles that were deliciously challenging, others that were satisfyingly tactile, and generally just an extreme attention to detail that left us excited for the next room (and then sad there wasn't a fourth.)

There's one puzzle at the end that can't be missed.

We did this as two so it was hard to expert for us, but with a larger group, it would be a medium/hard I think.

Lots of more advanced puzzles on this one. Would skip with younger kids for sure.

Somewhat
Lots of running back and forth between rooms, and also a very physical final puzzle.
Somewhat - rooms are wide open and most puzzles would be fine for hearing/visually impaired, but there could be a couple that are tricky if you don't have an able-bodied person on your team.

Fun time had by all! Well themed puzzles and set dressing. Great group running Red Fox for customer service and creativity. Can't wait for them to open their next room. Whatever the theme is they go all in.

Several of the doors are designed to look like ship/sub watertight hatches, but once through someone can unlock the outer frame give full doorway width to those behind them. Some visuals clues would be hard to see when not standing, things are taken off of upper walls and there are tight spaces to move through which would be difficult for those in a wheelchair or on a scooter. Company is in a basement of a building but there is an elevator.

Passed it the first time, though didn't matter as there is little street parking.
Medium
Street parking which is often taken, though there are garages on side streets.
βEverything about U-Boat makes it abundantly clear that this escape game was made with love.β
βWe have tried many submarine themed rooms before and this was by far our favorite.β
