Great game with one of my preferred game companies. Experience is always immersive and with puzzles in great working order with tech and unique puzzles and patterns rather than just locks. Great attitude of today’s GM. Minimal hints required and escaped within the allotted time!
I like the front two rooms - the back room was more of a struggle for our group.
Love the market - it even incorporates smells.

Not super accessible. There would be things out of reach in the first two rooms

Super affordable garage nearby - downtown so traffic is what it is on the day you choose to go. Super easy to find right on 5th though.

Fun game, interesting combination of traditional locks and technology. We had a group of 6 and had 2 others join us, yet we all had fun, I was surprised by that, as usually more than 6 becomes hectic really fast.
Good puzzles that related to story
Good atmosphere
GM was very helpful and made the game more fun for sure

I haven't seen technology like this in an escape room yet

This room was challenging but awesome! We loved it.

This room is like on the verge of love and like for me. There's a ton of unique puzzles with awesome theming. Like the theme was super on point, the rooms here always have such high production quality. But there weren't that many puzzles, probably only about 13-15 total. I went with about 7 other pretty experienced/smart people and this room is nonlinear, so we legitimately were blazing through the room. There's videos that are shown where they're supposed to pause the time, but they specifically didn't pause because apparently if they did then we would've escaped in like 30 minutes. But I really like the high tech things that are in this room. This room is also on the pricier side at $44.99. Was fun in my opinion, our game master was super chill and let us preview the other rooms too. You can also film and take pictures in the room while you're here! I like the company, with I got a discount voucher before leaving (20% off your next room)

The set was very well designed, awesome props and puzzles. This business really knows how to decorate their rooms - another room at their location, The Depths, is one of my favorites. We escaped Spec Ops with a group of seven novices (5 adults, 2 tweens) and two (?) hints. This was my 15th room (11W - 4L) and I found the puzzles were very challenging but not overwhelming. It was nice to have several brains looking at the puzzles bc one person would see a connection that the others missed. My only gripe with all of their rooms is that the clock is running while the long videos are playing. Yes, I understand that it is part of the immersive experience, but I think the clock should pause.
I really liked the bazaar! The room decorations were beautiful and it fit into the story well. Seven people in that room was tight - but we tackled puzzles in our areas, so it was fine.
Beautiful set design in the bazaar. Impressive special effects and gadgets later in the game.
The entire staff at Escape Game are very welcoming and friendly.

The decorations are fabulous and the gadgets & special effects later are impressive.
Every task was related to the plot and flowed easily.
Hard
We were a group of seven novices (10-17 games each) ranging in age from 10-57 and we escaped with 2:14 remaining (we were frantically completing the last task).
High tech
The beginning of the game was mechanical while the later puzzles were high tech (and very impressive). My youngest teammates really liked one of the tech-y handheld devices.

Two would be very hard. Advanced players could play with three or four. Novices should bring five or six. We played with seven (5 adults, 2 tweens) and asked for two (?) hints. It is nice to bring people who see puzzles differently.

There was lots of walking, reaching, etc. but nothing strenuous.
Wheelchairs would be challenging only bc of the narrow space. Vision is necessary. Use of hands.

We took the Green trolley to the Gaslamp District and the location is a block from the trolley depot. Very easy!
We took the Green trolley which was VERY easy.

Excellent puzzles, immersive experience , and challenging for people who have done a number of escape rooms. Not just a bunch of combination locks. We had a great time and will be back to try more of their rooms.
This room was so much fun. We really enjoyed the puzzles, which were challenging but doable. We did have to ask for one hint.
Really impressive setup and design. Everything was really well done. Very detailed and fun!
Everyone was great! The gal at the front desk was so nice and helpful. Our game guide was also great.

We really liked the Moroccan-inspired decor and the overall goal seemed different than other escape rooms we’ve done.
You are a CIA operative and they incorporate transmissions from a handler.
Expert
The Escape Game has this room rated as a 8/10 and I think that is pretty accurate. We are fairly well-versed in escape rooms and we thought it was pretty challenging.
Mechanical
Kind of a mix of both.

I’d say 12-13 years old would be ok. We have an almost 13 year old. Nothing was inappropriate for her. All puzzles were eye level and below. Nothing too high and nothing too low.

I wouldn’t think a wheelchair would work in this space as it seemed kind of narrow. I could be wrong though. Games were between knee- and eye-level. Only one really required much bending. People with red-green colorblindness would have e hard time with one puzzle. Everything else seemed ok.

It’s located in the Gaslamp district, so if you go on a busy day or weekend, it would likely be tough to find parking.

The game had a great set with clever puzzles and a story that made sense. We played with a team of 4, and for the most part it kept everyone busy. I did find myself standing around a few times, waiting for specific puzzles to get solved before we could move on. Overall my team had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and our GM was attentive and helpful.
