Der Uhrmacher [The Watchmaker]

I rated this room with a ❤️ because both of our kids (13 and 11) said it’s theirs favorite escape room they played up till today (out of ~15 rooms they played so far) - but it’s not in the same league as some of the top rooms I personally played. So 10/10 from a family fun perspective; maybe around 7/10 rated for adult players with some experience. Thus: highly recommend for a rainy afternoon in the Zugspitze-area, but not worth especially traveling to. We liked especially the beginning of the game and the broad variety of things to do which were all very well integrated into the story of the room. Given the fun beginning it lacked a bit of a “grand finale” as a conclusion for a fully rounded story arc though.

Overall, a good room. The puzzles were innovative and creative, which I really appreciated. We were only two, which made things a bit challenging. There was a lot to discover, and the ideal group size is probably around 4 people. The only thing that slightly bothered me was the number of keypads/combination locks. Not overwhelming, but noticeable. However, the numbers were mostly linked with clever puzzles, so it wasn’t too bad. The decoration could have been a bit more developed, but that’s just a minor detail. One thing they could really change: There was no music, which felt kinda weird. One of the rooms was technically very impressive. All in all: it was a solid experience. 7/10 would recommend.
