Jazz Parlor

Escape My Room is another company that draws heavily from local lore and culture to create their experiences. Housed in a former funeral parlor, these rooms could not exist authentically anywhere else on the planet. The building has an historic feeling and the GMs stay in character as they lead you into the experience. Jazz Parlor made great use of a small space, into which they packed a ton of antique decor and interesting puzzles. We had a group of 4, but it felt a little cramped at times. I’d recommend 3 players if you’re all seasoned escapers. Bonus points for the GM letting me sleep undisturbed in the waiting room after the game. I had food poisoning from some dicey oysters I ate the night before, rendering me all but useless to my teammates, lol

Rating: 3.5/5 - Enjoyable room, more-so than Mardi Gras Study Pros: ➕ Nice set with lots of props and antique feeling items that fit the theme. ➕ Enjoyable puzzles. ➕ Immersion starts at the entrance to the building, the GM played a character for the intro. ➕ The building itself was interesting and had an unique vibe for an escape room company. ➕ More than a single room to explore, decent progression and flow. ➕ Decent story/mystery ➕ A mix of padlocks and sensor based tech. ➕ GM was friendly, though we didn't really need any hints. Room for improvement: ➖ This is a solid room, it just doesn't do anything particularly interesting or impressive. We played as a team of 4 enthusiasts and finished with a lot of time left, it is not a difficult room, I'd recommend 2-3 enthusiasts. My ranking of all 3 rooms I played here (Inventor's Attic wasn't open): 1. Smuggler's Den 2. Jazz Parlor 3. Mardi Gras Study

Overall a standard escape room but is designed well and puzzles were very interesting. A little bit of outside knowledge is helpful but not necessary

I thoroughly enjoyed everything from the moment I entered to the moment I exited. Thank you for a great time.

Nothing special, but not bad either. Way overpriced though like by a lot considering 13th gate is $32 per person these people are charging like 70 for a run of the mill room. This one is definitely worth playing though if you've got a few more people, I think the ticket price varies based on how many guests.

While visiting New Orleans, we decided to check out the local escape room scene and chose The Jazz Parlor. The experience was exciting from the moment we walked into the lobby. The game master stayed in character and really added to the overall theme. The room was challenging but very interactive, and the puzzles were fun to solve. The hints gave just enough information to be helpful without revealing too much.

The vibes were immaculate. Ramping difficulty towards the end. Set design was great. Would be a bit cramped with more than 4 people.

The best thing about this place was the atmosphere as soon as you walk in. You immediately jump into the game! The room itself was cool and we almost made it with just two people. The puzzles made sense and all connected well. My only issue was the "answer" at the end just not connecting to anything. Otherwise, I'd give this room a 7.5/10
