Really well themed room for New Orleans, with good set design and a diversity of puzzles. This is better for smaller groups of 4-6 and the puzzles are challenging so don’t do this room if you’re a newbie. Save it to enjoy when you’re more experienced.

I don’t get this room…. Like. I wanted to get it but I didn’t. It was boring, slow, and puzzles were not fun. It’s a murder mystery room but by the end of the game. I felt the victim deserved it.

Maybe it was the theme but there was something missing about this game to make it stronger. A classic murder mystery but older built. Not kept up to standard with props and items and even lacking a little music to the adventure. Not a bad room by any means but just not my cup of tea. Strong points of this game are the changes of scenery.

I love how EMR builds their rooms to be continuations in a large story about the Delaporte family. They all tie together, and as you play the other rooms you find connections to where you’ve been. This is the 2nd room in the series. Some really cool tech in the room, and we missed a lot when playing it because there’s so much.

We are a family of four with teenagers and consider ourselves around intermediate in ability. This is a “must do” in New Orleans. The entire place was obviously intricately and skillfully designed and built. Complete immersion from the entry to the lobby to the rooms. Game master was incredibly attentive. We did 3 rooms there in a row; Jazz Parlor was the 2nd and it built on the overall theme very well with some added difficulty.

Probably between medium and hard
High tech
Tech blended in very well with the theme and did not spoil the old house setting.

Limited
No on-site parking, but their website lists several pay lots around downtown NOLA
“Newer players will likely find Jazz Parlor challenging, but not impenetrable. Be patient. “
