I want to start off saying that the set design is very nice and there are actually quite a few rooms within the small space. Though I think some of the decorations do end up causing a few red herrings and this severely impacts the flow of this room. The puzzle are also sometimes quite vague in what you need to be doing and there are props you need to find throughout the room to help you. They are put in quite hard to find places as well so if you miss them, you will be wasting a lot of time going back to find them. The gamemaster was great though I think it was only just him at the time and he was managing two other rooms so hints came through a bit delayed. He allowed me to complete the room solo but this room definitely benefits from more players being able to find props.

I'd like to begin by acknowledging I played this game fairly intoxicated. Overall I had a good time! There have clearly been some edits since opening with puzzles removed to make things flow more logically. This did lead to some unintentional red herrings but based on other reviews I imagine it's far better than it was. The set design was fun and I didn't find any puzzles to be too challenging or require too big of a leap in logic.

I was lucky enough to play-test Return to Wonderland very early in its development and I have to say it was a fairly disappointing experience. The pacing and lack of guidance are the main killers here, with the puzzles you solve room to room spiking dramatically in both difficulty and quantity. The dressing of the third room is the real redeeming quality outside of gameplay, it’s clear a lot of time and effort went into creating it. It’s a colourful yet confusing mess. Our Game-master, Connor was an absolute legend.

The puzzles in this room are illogical and didn’t make sense. The clues provided were irrelevant and out of context.
