I loved that the actor went along with our jokes! It was a lot of fun and not scary at all since none of us were taking it seriously 😂🤣

This was a fun game, but I almost hesitate to call it an escape room because it's so different from most. If you removed the actor from the game and just looked a the puzzles and set, there's maybe 15-30 minutes of gameplay. The real crux of the game is that you have to do everything while avoiding being caught by the island's resident serial killer. Fortunately, he's prone to taking naps and getting distracted, allowing players windows of time to get stuff done.

The real star of the game was the GM, who was always in the space with us and spent a good chunk of it animatedly ranting to himself. This has got to be a ton of work and energy, and he was in a mask the whole time, so probably not the most comfortable either.

Unusually for a gory theme, the room is well lit - no weak flashlights and jump scares here. This helps keep the game feeling like it's not actually horror. As someone who's not a fan of dim lighting, I appreciated the choice.

Also unusually, there's optional subgoals that are explained at the start of the game. They seem like a good way to keep a larger group occupied, as one scales with the number of players - it's not something I see very often, but seems like a good solution.

The game's not perfect. While the GM's acting was amusing to listen to, it also got tiring - there were multiple times in the game where I found myself wishing that he's go back to sleep so I could work on a puzzle instead of having to just sit there for what felt like minutes (but in reality was probably not quite that bad). I also got the feeling that he wasn't able to track our progress well (e.g. there wasn't s second GM watching us on camera and feeding info to he via earpiece), since there were times he would be giving clues for things we had already done or figured out.

The set is serviceable, and conveys the setting decently, but neither it nor the puzzles are the draw. The unusual hide-and-seek mechanic is the reason to play this game.

Nous avons adoré le concept très immersif. C’est pas un escape comme on a l’habitude de faire avec plusieurs pièces et un énigme qui t’amène vers un autre. La tu es dans le jeu avec un acteur qui fait parti intégrant du jeu, où tu dois y être attentif. Vraiment une belle expérience avec un game master wow. Et le staff sur place est génial.

We loved the highly immersive concept. It’s not your typical escape room with multiple rooms and a puzzle that leads you to the next one. Here, you’re right in the middle of the game with an actor who’s an integral part of the experience—you really have to pay attention. It was a truly wonderful experience with an amazing game master. And the staff on site is fantastic.
