Permanently Closed - Journey through an abandoned carnival ride where cruel carnie folk still linger in the shadows in Dark Ride: Castle of Chaos. The carnival has become a refuge for freaks and carnies. Now those shunned performers have created a dark world of terror which they plan to unleash on those who enter. Dark Ride will lead brave visitors through a treacherous path and into the bowels of a long-neglected attraction, as sinister shadows and horrifying scenes cast the gloom over the once pleasant ride. It’s everyone’s worst nightmare, being helplessly trapped inside an abandoned carnival ride without a way out.

The set design stood out as one of the most inspired and imaginative. What amazed me was that they built an entire dark ride, fully complete with animatronics and story beats that harken back to dark rides of the past. The path weaved the audience from the main attraction to behind the scenes in the maintenance corridors, building the story and anticipation until it climaxed into a mad scene of murderous hobo clowns roaming a hellish landscape.

I hated to see this one go. I honestly would never tire of it. It was outstanding, every bit of it. The talent fantastic, especially the ending scene, it was always a wow moment. The music fit it perfectly and the talent was a bang. The dark ride set was believable.

Dark Ride is one of my all time favorite theme park haunts! It’s so clever and unique. It really feels like you’re waking through an old fashioned dark ride. It’s disorienting use of space is wonderfully done.
