Escape IT - The Funhouse

Had a lot of fun going from room to room, definitely prefer The Sewers as many people seem to as well but this was a great experience. Our initial host was behaving like one of the players when she is there as an actor/game master/host who is meant to guide not direct. It was ruining the experience as she would step into the next room and start pointing things out before our entire group had even moved into the next room. I was very relieved when Victor took over, he understood how to give us all space and when to nudge and even personally asked me (and the other members of our group) a few times if I was having fun which I appreciated, because a little bit before that my answer would have been not really. Gameplay is interesting, there is some going back and forth between rooms you’ve already left and I recall using at least one item from one room in a different one. The storyline was not as clearly flowing as The Sewers however it’s based on the sequel film so if you’ve seen it then it makes sense. You’re basically guaranteed to be playing with strangers but our group was about 7 people and that felt like a good max amount, any more would be crowded. Overall I think both rooms are a must do in Vegas especially for escape room enthusiasts, I planned my vacation around some of the best escape rooms in the country and these two did not disappoint, really unique experience.

This is a must do when in Vegas. The live actors and the atmosphere make this room one to try.

We got lucky; although we did a public booking and there were other players who should have been in the game, they didn't show up and we got to play as a duo. It was way better than in an overly large group, which definitely impacts my experience; at the same time, it's not amazing enough that I would have wanted to pay the much higher price to guarantee a private booking. I thought the puzzles and tasks in IT 2 were more varied and interesting than in the first game, and the actors were more interactive. This could also have also just been a different perspective because of the smaller group size. One puzzle felt badly clued and we timed out on; even though it seemed obvious what sort of thing we should be looking for, we couldn't find it. The finale was both cool and awkwardly anticlimactic. The set is good, but the GM didn't prepare us for what to expect. Since it required us to do something, and we weren't prepared, we awkwardly stood around during what should have been a tense scene as we tried to figure out what we wanted to do. It would have been way better if this had been telegraphed beforehand so we could have sprung into action as the scene narratively calls for. This might also have worked better with a large group.

More of an experience than an escape room

Overall fun, and the sets are top notch. It's like being in the movie. The actors do a fantastic job, and really make the experience. Many of the puzzles are pretty hard, made harder by the fact that they don't really belong in the It universe. Those that do fit are tons of fun, but the ones that don't make you think, "Why does It care about door keypad codes?" You can tell the actors that you want an easy experience and they will give you lots of hints, and then you can just enjoy being part of the It universe for an hour.

It was a really cool experience- it’s definitely more of an immersive experience with puzzles as the story elements often occur before the puzzling. It was very fun!

We didn't like this one as much as the sewer. The host seemed to push us a lot especially early on. The puzzles were just ok there are not many of them and the ones that are there can be done by one or two people. I gave it a thumbs up mainly because of the scenic. If you are looking for a fun walk through with a few puzzles sprinkled this is it but it's not an escape room.

I had read previous reviews, so I wasn’t expecting it to be heavy on the ‘escape’ aspect. However, I was surprised that there were more puzzles than I anticipated. Unfortunately, an actor/guide accompanies you throughout the experience and essentially walks you through every puzzle. Even though my group was doing well, the guide told us how to solve the puzzles before we even had a chance to figure them out ourselves, which took away a lot of the fun. While the set and immersion are impressive, it’s not very scary, so if you’re looking for a good haunted house, this may not be it. I’d only recommend it to someone who doesn’t regularly do escape rooms, as they might still enjoy it. Another thing to note is the group size – there are 10 people per group, and many of the rooms are VERY small for that number. If you’re even slightly claustrophobic, this is not for you. Even without claustrophobia, I often couldn’t see what was happening because there were too many people crowding the small space.

Amazing set and really great to experience. Very much a walk through experience and few true puzzle sequences. The timing of some of the rooms seemed at but off but as long as you go in with the expectations of light on the escape room/ heavy on the immersive walkthrough you’ll enjoy it! Plenty of great moments.
