Museum Heist

Rating: 3.5/5 - Solid heist room, above average Pros: ➕Set looked realistic with some large artifacts and many details ➕Multiple rooms to explore ➕Mix of tech, number pads, and physical keys. Little to no combo padlocks. ➕Puzzles were mostly enjoyable, nothing unfair or annoying ➕Some hidden secrets ➕Very non-linear, we split up and were constantly busy ➕Satisfying ending ➕GM was friendly Room for improvement: ➖This is clearly one of their older rooms, it lacks the quirkiness, fantastical sets, animatronics, impressive tech, etc. of many of their newer rooms. ➖The puzzle gating was not great, there were too many things available before we could use them. Due to the non-linear gameplay, I'd recommend 3-4 enthusiasts though it should be doable with 2. Our team of 3 solved it with more than 15 min left with no hints, though I think this puzzle style suited us and we all split up. What a fun room! It had a great flow, a fun variety of puzzles (no padlocks!), and non-linear structure so everyone had something to work on. The space was compact but very creatively utilized, and there were several rooms for us to traverse. Another reviewer was clutching their pearls regarding the presence of a laser…just be a sensible human and don’t stare into the laser and you’ll be fine! There is a good deal of simple reading comprehension, so make sure you have reading glasses if you need them

Very well-themed museum room! It was nonlinear so everyone was able to work on something different at the same time. Puzzles were pretty simple and intuitive. There was a reasonable amount of stuff to do in this room so make sure you work at a good pace!

Puzzles were super well themed and room was immersive! Plenty of different rooms with memorable puzzles.

We had a group of 6 adults and it felt like too many for this room. The room is fairly tight and has a lot to read and look at; we sort of split off into groups of 2 to tackle the entire thing. The puzzles are not linear and we couldn't really keep up with what the others had already done. It has some fun puzzles and a nice design; if you're an escape room enthusiast, I'd recommend you try it. If you're just looking for a fun room for something to do, I'd check out their other rooms instead.

This was a lot of fun! It has some laser based puzzles which was new and something I hadn’t seen before. The tech behind the set up of this room is pretty impressive as well, and there is a lot of moving around carrying props.

Definitely I think the most difficult room at Gurnee. It’s also multilinear, make sure to split up! Most of the gameplay took place in the beginning room, and the last few rooms were lacking in puzzles in my opinion. Good for a larger group, though we were four.

Good room - a lot of puzzles and some reading. Good theming.

I usually prefer more linear, that way I'm able to see it all but we had 5 players, 3 of which being avid escape enthusiasts. This meant that we could all be working on something at once and it not feel too crowded. It was nice being able to look around while someone was working on something and find something useful :) I'm just personally not a big fan of heist rooms in general, but this one was really well done and the props were neat.
