SAVE YOUR MONEY. This event is such garbage!!! It was better as terror behind the walls… now all the haunts are 1-4 minutes long (literally not kidding). They focus on it more so being a “festival” and want you to buy food and drinks from the stands and trucks. They give you glowsticks to be touched and the actors really never touch or grab anyone… but if your friend give you their glowstick like mine did and you now have 2… OOOF the employees get mad and decide to get in your face and harass you and grab you and call you all names and threaten to ban you for “theft” lmfao literally psychos. Trash trash trash.

The haunted attraction at Eastern State Penitentiary is located inside of the very real, first prison built in the United States. This was the first spoke and wheel designed prison in the world and is the model for all modern prisons. Like everything in colonial Philadelphia, Ben Franklin had a hand in the design. When you go Eastern State, you are going to a real piece of history and the owners of the attraction have done a lot to keep this historical place in good shape. The haunted attraction is designed to easily take you from themed "house" to the next to allow you to see every attraction. The first time I went was Halloween night 2007, we were studying for our final exams for our 1L year at Drexel and realized it was Halloween so we took a break to visit Eastern State. It was a blast and a very good memory.

This haunted house was so much fun! You wear glasses that interact with the fluorescent paints inside to give a really freaky experience. Of course there were lots of characters there to give you scares but I thought it was more fun than scary as compared to the other haunted houses at Halloween Nights.
