Rating: 2/5 - Room was just OK, but there were a few too many issues for me to like it.
Pros:
➕Set was decent with a lot of antique feeling props and furniture which fit the theme.
➕More than a single room.
➕Some use of tech.
➕I enjoyed a few of the puzzles.
➕Multiple senses used to solve puzzles.
➕GM was helpful when needed.
Cons:
➖One maglock wasn't working which caused a puzzle to be completely bypassed.
➖Poor lock mapping, too many 4 digit locks and they don't make it obvious which code goes to which lock.
➖Accidentally opened a lock with a key that wasn't supposed to work on that lock.
➖One puzzle had objects that you would naturally want to remove to examine them. Except once you remove them, if you didn't remember where they were originally, the puzzle is impossible to solve without info from the GM.
➖I just didn't have much fun, because the difficulty was too high for my tastes and the overall feel/flow of the room just feels outdated in 2025.
➖Some areas of the set felt a bit too sparse/empty.
I'd recommend 3-5 players, but it's playable with 2 or even solo.
Between this and Christmas at Grandmas, I would recommend the Christmas one. It has better puzzles and more tech.
