Nuclear Annihilation

Definitely a gen 1 room with some fun lights attached to it. Very standard story with some impressive looking mechanics without much cleverness beneath them. Very difficult for a group of two (as there are so many puzzles to complete) but no puzzle felt insurmountable.

This is a very difficult room. The puzzles themselves are not complex but the sheer quantity of them made it tough to finish in time. If you’re looking for lots of puzzles and don’t care much for story or immersion then this is a good fit.

Did not complete. Finished 98% of the room with a lot of hints with 2 people. Most of the challenge came from not being able to see clearly / missing things in the dark room. It felt rushed because there are a lot of puzzles. The puzzles themselves weren't hard, but not all of them were "intuitive." Most of them actually felt dumb, lazy, cheap, and like busy work. A bigger group definitely could complete this room because it's like a divide and conquer room. The puzzles don't really connect to the story line and it's not very linear. I didn't like how the puzzles felt random. There were no riddles, clever wordplay, interesting puzzles, etc. Although the company says this and Prey are their hardest rooms, they are only hard because they have more puzzles. In terms of clever puzzle design, I'd say Perfect Crime was the best. From most to least favorite, I'd rank their rooms as the following, and I wouldn't recommend anything below Prey and Masquerade: Perfect Crime Exodus Prey Masquerade Nuclear Annihilation Quarantine

Tons of locks. Lots of puzzles jam packed into 1.5 rooms. Got out with our group of 2. Very gen 1.

We had 10 people and we couldnt figure it out to save our lives quite literally.

Successfully escaped with way too many people (approx 12). Many non-linear puzzles, good if you want to go for the divide and conquer approach. Really didn't like how most puzzles were just figuring out a combo to enter in a lock, especially since there were soooo many locks that all had the same number of letters/digits combo that so much time was spent just figuring out which lock was the right one for a combo.

Very well put together and a great gamemaster. Mix of tech and locks

We were a group of 4 people. After 3 hints we still could not make it out. We were stuck on the last 2 puzzles. These puzzles were very difficult. There were many puzzles and locks in this room. Still had a good time, but this was on the hard side of rooms.

The hardest room way for much math and science

This was a pretty standard "stop the explosion" scenario. There were however well over 10 mechanical locks to open in dim light...not an ideal pairing. Overall, the puzzle solving was fun, but the momentum slowed or came to a screeching halt as you took the 4-digit code you just discovered and tried to figure out which of the multitude of locks it matched to. Many of the locks used symbols to associate the puzzle to which lock it matched to...but not all.
