The Apothecary

It was ok, not really our kind of room or set up. The games IMO didn’t flow well and some didn’t really make a lot of sense, but I wouldn’t say they were hard once we got guidance on what we should do.

It was ok. But not incredibly engaging. Very laid back and somewhat whimsical. Nothing was broken and everything worked as it should.

We were treated great, although it’s a bit odd since there’s no real guidance after the intro and it’s hard to tell once you’re in the lodge who works there and who is another player. We also waited quite a long time once we asked for a hint (over 5 mins) - since there’s no set time it wasn’t a problem, just a bit annoying.

I wouldn’t say the actual puzzles in the room are particularly interesting or different from other escape places. It was well lit, which you don’t always get.

The plot was pretty loose and the elements all made sense for an apothecary room, but I wouldn’t say that the game flowed necessarily well and some of the puzzles didn’t make a whole lot of sense there needs to be a little bit more guidance

If there was some minor tweaks to the puzzles, I would call it easy. The puzzles themselves once we had a little bit more context weren’t hard.

It’s a rather small room so I would say no more than four players

The tasks weren’t scary or incredibly difficult, but an older child would probably do best.

There was some things that may be hard to see if you are physically disabled, and there are some colored items that would be hard to see if you had color blindness or poor vision

this is one of the rooms at the lodge where you have to go upstairs and i do not believe they have an elevator (may want to call to confirm with them) there was a color based puzzle (red/blue)

Pretty fun gameplay. It is fairly linear, but that does not make it less fun in the slightest.

Indeed felt like an alchemist's study, and tied in very well with the lore of the lodge.

The staff was lovely as always.

Wandering the halls of the lodge to unlock your way to the Apothecary adds to the excitement of the experience.

Charming little story of needing to find ingredients to an elixir. Very well intigrated to the tasks involved with the room.

We got hung up on one puzzle, but everything else was easy enough to solve.

Mechanical for the most part. There's a screen that's in the room, but isn't used for any puzzles. It's mainly to help the plot progress as you work through the room.

Could easily do it with two.

Not ADA accessiblle, as you do need to climb stairs to get to the room.

We weren’t treated poorly, but this place really lacks the personal touch that I appreciate from an enthusiastic game master. Our welcome was extremely brief and there was literally no debrief with a GM afterwards, which is a bit of a buzzkill.

The game is mainly played in one small room. Any more than 3 would be too much and this could *easily* be done solo.

The building is SO cool!! Loved it and the post-puzzle room drinks were so creative and fun!

The room itself is not physically active but in order to access the room itself, you must go up a flight of stairs.

You must be able to climb a flight of stairs. I don't think there is an elevator but I could be wrong.

The shared space concept is very cool. Only seen it once before

No locks!!!!!! Gotta love a room that can create a room without a single old school lock
