It’s been a month since you’ve heard from your best friend Greg who went on that hunting trip with their Uncle Frank. Suddenly, your phone gets a ping of your friend Greg’s location. Following your GPS, you and your friends make it to Greg’s last known location…a cabin in the woods. Nothing should go wrong and you’ll definitely find Greg…right?

30 escape rooms

I was quite excited for this coming off of the reviews… but oh boy. The definition of “mid” really comes into play with this room. Coming off from doing Cinema 7 which was exceptionally well done. This was just a let down! I don’t know if it’s just me and how many rooms me and my partner have done, but we were just like “🤷🏼” after leaving. I’d say if you’ve never done a serial killer/cabin in the woods type room before, then sure go for it. But, this just reminded us of so many rooms we’ve done before.

Gameplay

I feel quite neutral about this entire room, the gameplay was fine, but there was one part in the first room that neither me or my partner could figure out. There was really nothing unique, just your run of the mill lock and key.

Atmosphere

The first room was quite nice, but again it’s the same old song and dance creepy cabin in the woods.

Customer service

Staff is really nice and helpful here, nothing wrong with them, game masters were helpful!

Particularly interesting or different

No

Not at all, maybe do a first timer. But if this is not your first room, you won’t be amazed.

Story

Again, if there was a neutral button this is where I’d press it.

Difficulty

Hard

Spoilers ahead!!!! The tire section… made ZERO sense to us. Even with explanation, we spent a solid 10-15 minutes on it.

Game tech

Mechanical

Nothing technical at all really, just a couple flashing light puzzles.

Ideal number of players

3

2-3 is fine. If you have four or more you’re really gonna get bored quickly.

Scary

Spooky

Nothing there to scare you really, just a vibe

Minimum age

If your kid can handle fake props, they’ll be alright!

Was anything broken?

No

Everything worked as intended.

Live actors

No

Nope!

Physically active

Somewhat

One small step for man (entering the house) and one small duck into a room!

Accessibility

If you have a broken arm you’d be alright, but not so much if you have mobility issues. I’d avoid.

Easy to find location

No

The first time we came here we had a little trouble finding it. It’s in the “pointe” Orlando behind the Maggiano’s and Main Event. Helpful tip for those visiting, just park somewhere free and walk. We parked at the Dave and busters and took a short walk over. There’s zero reason to pay for parking at the pointe.

Parking

Limited

DO NOT PARK AT THE POINTE!! Just find another business and walk from there!

154 escape rooms

This is a fun serial killer cabin room (yes the theme is overused). It has some clever puzzles with an above average set. There’s nothing extraordinary about this room, but it’s one of those solid escape rooms you can do on any given evening and come out feeling satisfied/accomplished. It definitely scratches that itch. If you’re here to play Cinema 7, you might as well play this one too. This is my ranking of all the games at this location that I have played. 1. Cinema 7 2. Disappearance

Disappearance was a standard outdoorsy room with a twist. Unique puzzles and well constructed set. Not my favorite from our trip, but not the last. Convenient location, and great staff!

What a great room! Highly immersive with challenging puzzles and a fluent and sometimes non-linear movement through the story. It was a tougher room but a great room! We did it with 2 people but the length of some puzzles and the need for two people on them would make the room better with 3.

Gameplay

Really outstanding…hard puzzles that were challenging and fun. It’s a smaller space but could really use 3 people as a few puzzles were time consuming and simultaneous. All in all excellent game play!

Atmosphere

Very cool…felt very congruous with the theme of the room. Very immersive.

Customer service

Fantastic! Angelina was an awesome GM and really stayed in character throughout…we were glad to have her.

119 escape rooms

This was a fun room with a variety of diverse puzzles. Several puzzles were layered challenges that were more complex to solve but still fun. Theming was creepy but not terrifying. Gameplay was not linear so multiple challenges could be worked on at the same time. About a 50/50 split between locks and triggers.

Gameplay

Gameplay was fun and diverse. Non-linear so groups can solve more than one puzzle at a time. Several multi-layered puzzles that a couple of people can solve together. A few puzzles we hadn't;t seen before so that was a plus.

Atmosphere

Set and atmosphere were appropriately dark and creepy. Props and special effects were well done and music during the middle of the game is appropriately themed if you listen to the songs.

Customer service

GM was great and enthusiastic.

Particularly interesting or different

No

Serial killer with creepy cabin is not a unique theme but this was one of the best executions of that theme that we've played.

Story

Again, not totally original but every element was well integrated here and flowed seamlessly.

Difficulty

Medium

Medium to easy.

I'll say high tech but it's really more of a 50/50 split between locks and triggers.

157 escape rooms

This game was fun but it was pretty easy. While the set was immersive and the storyline was effective, a lot of the puzzles felt like pretty generic escape room puzzles. This is an enjoyable room but don't go in expecting something super unique if you are an avid escape room enthusiast.

  • store/u/0143e72a-6c5d-4442-9335-ba3550ca1eba_133.jpg
Gameplay

The puzzles were fun and they flowed well but many of them were reminiscent of puzzles that we have seen before.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere was immersive and effective but it was also similar to escape rooms that I have done before.

Customer service

Our GM was very welcoming!

Particularly interesting or different

No

The ending was different but the rest was pretty generic.

Story

I liked the story and while the beginning was pretty generic, the ending was different from most games that I've played before.

Difficulty

Easy

As a team of three escape room enthusiasts we got out in 40 minutes with no hints.

Game tech

Mechanical

This room was mostly comprised of physical locks.

Ideal number of players

3

Three felt like plenty of people for this game. I would recommend 3-5 people so that you can divide and conquer on some of the non-linear sections of the game.

Scary

Spooky

There weren't really any jump scares that I recall and there was no live actor. The theming of the room was definitely spooky but not super scary.

Minimum age

12

This room is spooky but not scary so if younger players aren't scared easily then they should be fine in this room. In my opinion this room was slightly scarier than "Cinema 7" at Will to Escape so maybe start with that one and see how you feel about the scare level.

Was anything broken?

No

Live actors

No

Physically active

Not at all

There are no stairs or crawl spaces in this room but the entryways to different rooms sometimes included small steps or ducking.

Accessibility

I would not recommend this game to players with mobility restrictions because it would be difficult (if not impossible) to get into the latter rooms in this game. Some puzzles utilized color in this game but no puzzles utilized sound.

Easy to find location

Yes

This game is in a shopping center but it is easy to find with signs around the shopping center and google maps.

Parking

Medium

The only parking option is to park in the nearby parking deck. It's not difficult to find but it does mean that you will have to pay for parking.
